Sélection Mango is not an organic product, but it is almost twice as expensive as Organic Mango. What are the differences, why such a high price difference and then not even organic Sélection? Very intransparent towards customers
Hello StreuselOrchidee, the Sélection mango is harvested when ripe and transported by air without refrigeration. The fruit is therefore riper, has a higher sugar content and an excellent taste. Migros Sélection stands for a high-quality premium product line from Migros, which is characterized by the best ingredients, special taste and an unmistakable story or origin. The line was launched in 2005 to offer customers a selection of outstanding quality products that stand out from the inexpensive M-Budget offers and standard house brands. The Sélection mango achieves a Brix value of at least 15 with its sweetness, while the organic mango "only" has to achieve a Brix value of at least 13.

Have you changed the supplier for these mangoes? I've had mangoes 3 times in a row now that were rotten on the inside but only slightly soft on the outside (as they should be). I have been buying these mangoes for years and have always been very satisfied as they were never stringy or anything like that and have a very fine taste. But now I have thrown just under CHF 20 into the green waste bin. I don't think that's acceptable for the Sélection line...

We have been faced with the end of the season since the end of last week and will not receive goods with a new origin until mid-April. We try to guarantee quality by imposing clear requirements on our suppliers and by carrying out strict checks on incoming goods.
Certain deviations sometimes only become apparent after some time and are not visually recognizable, which is why we are constantly working on this and removing the affected items from the shelves. I tasted two of his mangoes, including one with the store's fruit and vegetable manager. We found them to be fair, even unpalatable. How are the quality of the products selected checked? Is this only done when the produce leaves Israel, or is it checked in Switzerland?

The two mangoes weren't too ripe, but they weren't very sweet and had a really unpleasant bitter taste.

Why has there been no Sélection Mango (tree-ripened) in my regular store in 8048 Zurich for weeks? According to the Migros website, these mangoes are currently available in Bremgarten, for example.

What does "by air" mean? That the mango was transported by air?
Right ✅ Mangoes that have been allowed to ripen on the tree, such as the Haden, Keitt, Kent, Palmer and Red Moon, are transported by air freight.
