Hello Mary-L-A, the Sélection Macarons product does not contain any gluten-containing ingredients, nor should any carry-over be expected. If a product contains gluten-containing ingredients, this must be openly declared, stating the gluten-containing cereals (wheat, spelt, rye, barley, oats, etc.). In addition, ingredients containing gluten must be highlighted in the list of ingredients, for example in bold print or with capital letters (examples: wheat starch, WHEAT flour). Traces due to possible carry-over in the manufacturing process must be indicated at the end of the list of ingredients with a "may contain" note ("may contain gluten" or "may contain traces of gluten"). Hello tire123, the additive E 471 in Sélection Macarons is of vegetable origin. Note: This additive is based on fat components (fatty acids or glycerine). The fat used to manufacture this product is normally of vegetable origin (palm kernel, rapeseed, sunflower, soybean oil, etc.). Theoretically, it could also be of animal origin (pork and/or beef fat); however, this is no longer customary.
