The packet of Himalayan salt says: Ingredients table salt. So is this not pure Himalayan salt?

Hello Louisblues! Himalayan salt is a subgroup of table salt. It is 100% natural and contains no additives. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Himalayan salt does not come from the Himalayas. It is essentially 97% table salt, the rest is simply rust (iron oxide, hence the color) and dirt. Stiftung Warentest and Öko-Test have tested the salt and found no special composition or effect whatsoever. At the price (15.50 Fr/kg, Jura salt 0.95 Fr/kg) it must be described as pure profiteering. See also the Wikipedia article "Himalayan salt".
I would welcome it if Migros were to remove such quack products from its range. Dutti would be turning in his grave

Dear guest
Thank you very much for your comment.
Experience has shown that the proportions of unadded trace elements in the various salts are very low and therefore do not play a decisive role for human health. Nutritionally relevant is primarily how much salt and whether iodized or non-iodized salt is consumed. In the case of imported salt specialties such as Himalayan salt or Sel de Fleur, there are additional charges for salt shelves, transport routes, manual labor, etc., which can lead to a higher sales price.
We hope for your understanding and wish you all the best from the M-Infoline team.

Does Migros also have factories or branches in Pakistan? How can it be ensured that the quality and fair working conditions for handpicking can be maintained?

Dear guest
Thank you for your interest.
Quality and fair working conditions are ensured through certifications, which are regularly checked by independent inspection bodies. We also carry out our own internal audits directly in Pakistan at regular intervals.
We hope this has been helpful and wish you an enjoyable week. Your M-Infoline Team

How can I refill the grinder?
Hello guest
Thank you for your interest.
The refill bag can only be used to refill the new grinders. The refill bag was only introduced after the grinder mechanism was adapted for repeated filling. The grinder now has a ceramic grinding mechanism. The new grinders are easily recognizable by the black lid.
We hope this has been helpful and wish you a pleasant weekend. Your M-Infoline Team

I love this salt and use it a lot for cooking... But now I have a problem with refilling the small mill: how do I open it? Can anyone help me??
Dear guest
Thank you for your question. We are pleased that you like the Himalayan salt so much.
You may still have an old mill, as it cannot be opened. This transparent mill was equipped with a rather weak grinding mechanism and would not have been able to withstand multiple use.
You can recognize the new ones by the black grinder head. They are equipped with a strong ceramic mechanism and can be screwed on.
We hope this information helps you and wish you a nice day.
See you soon in your Migros!
Best regards from the M-Infoline team
