The last time I was in Migros, the RioMare packaging smiled at me and I was in the mood for a summery Salade Nicoise. Oh dear, when I opened the cans, I found an unappetizing, indefinable something that resembled vomit rather than fine pieces of tuna. The advertising on the can has absolutely nothing to do with the contents. It could also be considered "unfair advertising". What is Migros' position on this?

My question: Is it safe to heat the product in the oven, e.g. for a thon pizza? I am asking about heating the extra virgin olive oil which is part of the contents of the tin. Is 25 minutes at 180°C - 200°C safe?

In my experience, it is better to use tuna without oil, which is also available from Rio Mare and Migros. Because of all the oil, the pastry base is completely "soaked" with oil and is no longer crispy and fine.

Hello the-ant, thank you for your inquiry about the Riomare tuna in olive oil. The manufacturer confirms that there are no problems with using it for pizza and baking it in the oven. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
