Meat from abroad must be labeled in accordance with the Agricultural Declaration Ordinance (LDV; SR 916.51) if the local legislation permits production practices that are prohibited in Switzerland. Since the use of performance enhancers is not banned in the United States, the above-mentioned label must therefore be declared. It is therefore possible that the beef fillet mentioned was produced with hormonal performance enhancers.
