What makes a good forum post?
Was macht einen guten Forumsbeitrag aus?

There are rules on Migipedia, but how to create a good forum post is not written there. Very important: I don't want to impose any additional rules on you with this post. See it as inspiration, and if you don't need it, just keep clicking 😉.
What is a good and what is a bad text also has to do with your own preferences. But when you start a discussion or write a reply on Migipedia, pause for a moment and ask yourself what a post should contain that you would like to read yourself. Below I briefly list some possible points.
Is there already a discussion about this?
Before I start a new discussion, I briefly use the forum search to check whether there are already any posts on my topic. Which points of the topic are being discussed there? Is it worth joining an existing discussion or do I really want to start a new topic - which is your right, by the way.
Choose a concise title
People read the title first. Be it on Migipedia or when you come across a hit from the Migipedia forum via Google search. Incidentally, Google is the strongest channel when it comes to leading users to the Migipedia forum. But back to the titles: Make sure they are clearly worded. Name the product that your post is about. Write where we or other users can support you, or simply make other community members curious with your title. Because if a post is not clicked on due to a misleading or unclear title, the chance that many users will see the post and take part in the discussion decreases.
Images, links, clear product descriptions
Not everything has a place in the title. So let's move on to the content of a post or a reply in the forum: So that other community members, but also the M-Infoline, the community management or I can quickly get an idea of your request, it is helpful if you enrich your texts with additional information. Examples: Upload pictures if a package is damaged or a yogurt lid has annoyed you for the umpteenth time. Take a screenshot of error messages you receive and write which cell phone, computer and Internet browser you use. Share links from websites or Migros products with others and us (no spam please, see Spielregeln☝️). Clear product names also help: Is the Kult Ice Tea Lemon in a particular article the one in the PET or the one in the Tetra pack? 1 l, 1.5 l, 0.50 cl or 330 ml?
Stay friendly
These tips will hopefully be helpful when it comes to launching discussions on Migipedia. But what my colleagues from Migros Community Management and I really care about is the tone. I could list a few proverbs now, such as "As they say in the forest..." or "Tit for tat".
Finally, I would like to remind you that we want a friendly and constructive tone. I know that emotions can sometimes run high and you can feel offended or attacked. We don't always agree with what others write. Nevertheless, we believe that friendly and respectful interaction is the basis for a good discussion culture on Migipedia.ch ❤️ (not only on Migipedia, but also in real life).
Kind regards
Philipp
