After washing these glasses in the dishwasher, we have had bluish-white rings in various places on the glasses for some time. We can't get rid of them with vinegar and the like. I fear glass corrosion. I bought new glasses - same problem. Has anyone else experienced this?
Hello durrerb, thank you for your message. We regret that the bluish-white rings on your glasses cannot be removed. To check the cause more closely, we would ask you to send us photos of the affected lenses. This will enable us to better assess the situation and help you further. Thank you in advance for your efforts! Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Dear M-Info-Team
Thank you very much for your feedback. At the moment, 5 out of 15 jars look like the picture. I bought some glasses in January 2025. I have already asked Zwiesel Glas. They wrote "We would like to inform you that chemical processes can occur during the rinsing process, which in some cases can lead to glass corrosion." Also with the advice to contact the retailer where the product was purchased directly.
Kind regards
Brigitte
Have you been able to find out anything about it?
Hello durrerb, thank you very much for sending us the photos and for your patience regarding the duration of our investigations. It is difficult to make a differentiated assessment based on pictures. Nevertheless, we were able to find out the following:
When washing dishes by machine, glass is subjected to more stress than when washing by hand. The washing temperature is higher and the dwell time of the glass in the dishwasher is longer. Furthermore, some types of detergent or individual detergent components attack glass more severely. The quality of the water (e.g. water hardness) also has an influence. In addition, different types of glass behave differently during automatic dishwashing.
In rare cases, the interaction between the dishwasher, detergent, water quality and glass can lead to cloudy glass, which unfortunately can often no longer be removed using standard household products. It is therefore not possible to name a specific cause. We hope that this information is helpful to you. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
