Dear Migi. Until about a year ago, your braid was one of my favorite Sunday braids, so to speak, but in the meantime you must have changed something in the recipe, because your braid is now almost inedible, dry, old and more like toast!!!! What a shame, what's the reason for that?
Unfortunately, I can agree with you. The Migros plait used to be a highlight, but now I buy my plait at Aldi or Lidl.
I buy it new from Denner or make it myself again😉😁🤗

In our stores with an in-house bakery, we make the butter plaits fresh several times a day so that we can ensure optimum freshness. Hello M-Infoline team, sorry to hear about your problem, but it's not much use now. I don't think it's very useful now, but the braid has very strange properties. Dry, rubbery, far too light and stale in taste. As already mentioned, there have obviously been some changes to the recipe for all Migros Zopf varieties. My example, Bärner Ankezüpfe (Bern-Marktgasse) or Butterzopf IP-Suiss (Kleinwabern) and actually for some months now also other locations Aglo Bern, as well as in Shoppyland, have all become very similar. Maybe it's because they use strange ingredients like clarified butter and not pure butter, or because they use glucose and milk powder. What do I know? Only one thing is clear. For me, the best bread in Switzerland, which was also a competitor to all bakers, is no longer a reason to go to Migros. As with the "Nutella scandal", I, or rather we, would simply like to know why this is the case. Handmade or not - obviously doesn't matter. So it really sounds like an excuse. Please Dear M-Infoline team member, a well-founded answer would really be worth a lot. Why has Migros destroyed their braid, my Züpfe, in the last few months to such an extent that it reminds me of a petrol station braid? One that I've been carrying in my hiking rucksack for 7 hours...? Is it possible that we will ever get the good quality back? During production, there may be slight variations in the braids, which are all handmade. Hi Bubs, thanks for your post. The braided bread varies from cooperative to cooperative. Basically, fresh plaited bread is available from Thursday. In the GM Aare region, braided bread is available throughout the week. Berliners are always available all year round. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Funnily enough, Coop only manages to label certain breads with the note "may contain traces of this and that". This probably depends on the baking facility in which the bread is baked.
If you're allergic to nuts, you can't even buy toast at Migros without having a bad feeling. Even the gluten-free AHA stuff doesn't help much.
Perhaps a more precise differentiation would be necessary here and probably also possible, instead of simply writing on every product that it may contain this or that as a precaution.
In this way, an allergy with minor restrictions suddenly becomes a major problem when shopping.

All JOWA AG breads are labeled "May contain nuts, sesame, soy, eggs".
This note on the packaging indicates a possible contamination with nuts, sesame, soy and eggs, as all these ingredients are stored and processed in the company. As JOWA manufactures both products with and without these ingredients, it is technically unavoidable that some carry-over will occur. The breads that are produced today are of the highest standards in terms of quality and safety. Of course, JOWA cleans the production facilities thoroughly and always tries to minimize the risk. In this respect, standardized company regulations apply, which are regularly checked and adapted. Nevertheless, the possibility of carry-over in the trace area cannot be completely ruled out.

The butter plait is actually really great, but as a family with allergies, we really don't have it that easy anymore. This applies not only to the braided loaf, but also to all other Migros breads. This little sentence "may contain traces of nuts" is a real horror for nut allergy sufferers. Especially because of the fact that this is ultimately just a safety measure to cover any impurities. I think it's great that Migros is making an effort and has gluten-free products for allergy sufferers in its range, but in my opinion Migros should also make sure that it doesn't say on every product that it may contain traces of nuts, because that makes shopping less fun. It's a shame that this has become part of everyday life and that it's generally accepted to warn that something might be in it, even if it doesn't contain anything of the sort. It's a bit like writing on a packet of painkillers that it might still contain traces of laxative.

Jowa produces around 60 - 80 different types of bread every night, depending on the bread range of the individual Migros cooperative. These fresh breads have to be delivered to all Migros branches from 5.00 a.m. in the morning. In this very short time, breads with different flours and ingredients such as nuts, sesame, soy, etc. are produced on the bread machines. Unfortunately, with so many different breads, it is unavoidable that, despite precautionary measures and cleaning, individual traces of nuts remain on the equipment.
As a food manufacturing company, we are legally obliged to take all necessary measures to prevent contamination. Nevertheless, contamination with individual allergenic ingredients in the various sub-processes of bread production, such as recipe mixing, dough production, baking and packaging lines, cannot be 100% ruled out, meaning that traces of allergenic ingredients can end up in the end products. As we are aware of what such residues can mean for allergy sufferers, this is communicated accordingly on all bread bags. We therefore offer a range of gluten-free AHA products as an alternative.
