Does the bulb get hot on the outside if it is on for a long time? This question because the light would be in direct contact with a piece of furniture and I don't want the wood to be stained. Thanks pda
Hello borabora Thank you for your question. Basically, it can be said that LED lamps do not get hot, but warm. Of course, this is a different feeling everywhere, but the maximum limit for LED lamps is usually well below 60 degrees Celsius. Anything below this, including the heat generated by conventional LED lamps, can be touched with bare fingers without hesitation, even after a long burning period. Of course, we cannot provide any guarantee for applications in consumers' homes. A certain minimum distance from the luminaire housing or furniture, as here, should be ensured. Depending on the material, even the mere development of heat can lead to damage, and the heat does not even have to be that great. A white piece of furniture near a light source will probably automatically become slightly "discoloured" over time, but this does not only happen due to the heat, but generally when exposed to light. However, classic "burn marks" such as those previously seen with incandescent or halogen lamps are not to be expected. The heat directly from the LED also depends on the brightness setting; if, of course, the brightest level is always set, the heat emission is probably also rather high.
