As stated on the back of the tube of this product, the abrasive parts in the scrub come from whale and macadamia nut shells. If the issue here is that you are mistakenly equating microplastics with synthetic polymers: It is correct that synthetic polymers are present in the product. These are water-soluble individual molecules and are much smaller than the plastic pieces of microplastics. They have no surface to absorb substances, so they cannot cause the environmental problems identified for microplastics. They are degradable - albeit very slowly - and do not accumulate in the environment. In addition, the majority is filtered out in sewage treatment plants and disposed of in waste incineration. If you want to avoid them altogether, we recommend using natural cosmetics, where no synthetic polymers may be used. We recommend that you massage it in using circular movements and then wipe off the excess natural grains with a dry cloth so that the nourishing cream continues to adhere to your feet.
