Hello, is gingerbread spice the same as pear bread spice?
I would like to bake a fruit loaf and the recipe says pear bread spice. Can someone enlighten me?
No, it is not identical, but can be used as a substitute. If you want a moist fruit loaf, use a little of the pear bread filling. Then you've basically killed two birds with one stone. 😁
Thanks for your answer! Good idea with the pear bread filling. I'll have to see what's available and how much sugar is in it. I can probably leave the sugar out of the recipe if the filling is very sweet.
The one from Migros tastes ok, but the packaging is the biggest joke. I always buy mine at the Coop. Sugar yes, but usually in the form of apple puree. But I wouldn't leave the sugar out completely, baked goods don't always forgive that 😅
