Does not work
It's a good idea, but I've left it in place for several days, and no flies have got inside. They fly around outside, walk on the surface, but don't get in. Maybe I have an infestation of a very stupid breed of fruit flies. The one of the same brand that looks like a pyramid with a sticker inside, however, caught the first fly within seconds.
It's been standing there for over 2 weeks, teeming with fruit flies but not a single one has ever been in the trap. Too bad, doesn't seem to be working
