It also leaves me speechless. A whole row of crates of nectarines, strawberries, raspberries, other berries and rhubarb.
It's a disgrace for Migros to include such things in its range.
Let's not talk about the asparagus since December, otherwise I'll be driven away completely.

Hello guest
Thank you for taking the time to write to us. Migros sees it as its task to cover the needs and wishes of a wide range of customers. In winter, most of the fruit and vegetables available from Switzerland are stored, so fresh nectarines, for example, are a welcome change from the rest of the imported range from southern Europe. However, as already mentioned, Migros is making its usual efforts to meet these requests in the most sustainable way possible, and we are aware that there are customers who consider the import of fresh produce to be unnecessary. For many, however, they are still important. Customers should be able to decide for themselves which products they want to buy and which not. We provide the information they need to make this decision. The origin of each individual product is listed on the products or on the shelves and racks. We can assure you that a product that is not purchased by customers will be withdrawn from sale.
We hope we have helped you with this answer and are always available to answer any further questions you may have. Your M-Infoline Team

Products that were not sold did not last long in the range!

the nectarines are only one thing. Not edible. It really is a disgrace for Migros to offer such goods. I bought three and cut and ate each one. None were really edible.

Do not buy at all! Ust no season!

Hello alfmar, thank you for your message about the nectarines. We try to offer ripe fruit whenever possible. The season for these fruits has not yet officially started. However, there are Migros cooperatives that are already offering the fruit. Unfortunately, this may have a negative impact on the quality of the nectarines or they may not yet be fully ripe. In this case, it helps to let the fruit ripen a little at home. Please let us know where you bought the fruit so that we can pass your report on to the specialist department. Many thanks and best regards, your M-Infoline team

Unfortunately, we already know about asparagus from Peru. But yesterday, I was blown away by this new idiocy - nectarines from CHILE!!! Another lesson for Migros: Chile is on the other side of the globe, just below Peru. Nectarines even grow here, but a little better and slightly to the south. The nectarines here are just getting ready to blossom in a few weeks. Fruit will then be available to harvest in the SUMMER.
If you don't give a damn about anything, then stop with the marketing phrases!

Hello guest
Thank you for your valuable comment.

Also seen in Migros Rotkreuz.

Dear guest
Thank you for your feedback.
We have the nectarines in our range as a supplement because there are currently no stone fruits from Europe. The quantities are very small. However, they are very popular with some customers. The nectarines come to us by ship, so the proportion of CO2 consumption caused by transportation is comparatively low. Migros will only be offering nectarines from Chile for another week or so. We will switch to European goods as early as May.
If we find that imported fruit and vegetables are no longer being bought, we will no longer offer them. From our point of view, however, it is up to our customers to make a decision. With the declared origin, we want to provide transparent information.
We hope that this information helps you and wish you a pleasant day.
Best regards from the M-Infoline team

Wonderful answer - blame the (brainless) customers. Migros has no responsibility. It simply can't help it. It is forced to offer summer fruit in winter. It has no other choice. It would be death and destruction if there were no nectarines in winter. And shipping from the other side of the world is completely environmentally friendly.
Migros only does one thing: BLA BLA BLA.

Meat eaters are actually the worst environmental offenders when it comes to the ecological balance... Meat must therefore be taken off the shelves!!! (Or is that something completely different?!)

Meat = meat? Masses of fattened Argentinian beef = organic beef eaten in moderation from the farmer next door?

The apples that were harvested last fall also need a lot of ENERGY, as they come from a carbon dioxide mist that accelerates the ageing process. In order to keep the fruit crisp, a lot of help is given. The apples are stored in hermetically sealed storage rooms cooled to 1 to 3 °C, where the oxygen content is reduced and the CO2 content is increased.

and in very few cases are really edible. they can be described as wooden apples. in any case, i no longer buy such fruit in Migros.
