Why does descaling always take so long, even though the operating instructions say 20 minutes?

Is it normal to have to descale the machine every month, according to the indicator light?
Hello, tokol Thank you for your question. 🙏 The need to descale your coffee machine actually depends on the amount of water running through it and not on a fixed period of time. ☕💧 So if you drink a lot of espressos, it will take longer for the descaling indicator to light up. For lungo coffee, which requires more water, the indicator lights up more quickly. 💡 Limescale can actually be quite aggressive and reduce the water flow, which is often the main reason for defects in a coffee machine.
