Question to those who developed / designed the product: Why is there a llama on it? Mate has nothing to do with the Andes or llamas. It would also be el Mate ;).

But why is there a llama on it? Mate has nothing to do with llamas or the Andes region. It would be like advertising ajvar with ibex.
Hello Dinobaf, thank you very much for your feedback. Mate is mainly consumed in the lowland regions of South America. However, mate is also drunk in some Andean regions. With the design of our Migros Lamate, however, we didn't want to create a direct geographical link between mate and the Andean region or llamas. We deliberately chose the llama on the packaging as a symbol of certain values: it stands for calm, serenity and a sense of adventure. For us, these characteristics fit perfectly with the character of our Migros Lamate. Our aim was to create an emotional connection with the design and to convey a feeling of South American lifestyle - without implying an explicit assignment of origin. Which Migros stores sell multiple packs (24 packs)? You don't get them individually either

Far too much sugar! It's obvious that Migros wants to copy the success of EL TONY here. I continue to buy EL TONY. Migros would have been better off making a variant that was really noticeably less sweet than EL TONY. The aim should be to get below 15 kcal per 100ml to be better than a Feldschlössli non-alcoholic... Does Migros Product Development really think it's clever to simply copy other Swiss products? If so, then copy Australian drinks, for example, which are also available in Migros. That would only make sense from an environmental point of view!

Lamate and El Tony are caffeinated energy drinks based on mate, but contain only about half as much sugar as classic energy drinks - therefore a sensible alternative to these in terms of sugar. Good news: A sugar-free version of Lamate is already in the works and is expected to be available in Migros by the end of fall!

Thank you, but it's not just about sugar or not, it's also about the taste. What I also meant is that the Lamate simply tastes too sweet. Perhaps a third version would be useful, "the not so sweet Lamate"
Probably a matter of opinion... I don't find the product sweet at all... and every palate is different...

Is this a copy of Rewe's LaMate? Do they know about it?
Mate tea is mainly drunk hot in Uruguay, Argentina. The canned version is now available everywhere. It probably started with El Tony. I have already tested some myself and they are all very similar to Nature. However, the sugar content is different. Migros has 6g, El Tony & and Aldi 5.5g and Lidl 5g. So much for the copy 😃
It's about the name, not what's in it. I'm half gaucho and know mate like others know mother's milk.
