What grade of stainless steel is it? And do you happen to know the alloy as well? Unfortunately, after a while, my tea starts to taste a bit off. Other than that, I’d be very happy with this bottle.
Hi KalJa, the stainless steel grades used in this double-walled bottle are 201 stainless steel on the outside and 304 stainless steel on the inside. Stainless steel is itself an alloy (consisting of iron, carbon, and chromium).
If you leave coffee or tea in stainless steel containers for a long time, the taste can become a bit strange. This is normal and is related to oxidation processes and reactions that occur when very hot tea comes into contact with the metal. 304 is already a high-quality grade of stainless steel and is therefore unlikely to be the main cause. We recommend letting the tea cool down a bit before pouring it into the bottle to avoid “overheating” at very high temperatures. This might improve the taste slightly.
