The diameter of the cup and the lid are the same size. Small deviations in the tolerance of both elements may mean that the resealability suffers. This is correct. We are also experiencing the same issue with the lids. Obviously someone did not take into account the stiffness of the bigger container. Also the 500g container was much more practical. Even a 400-450g would be preferred.
