Good afternoon
Our household was a heavy user of M-Budget cottage cheese. Since the layout change, we have been discussing whether there has been a slight change to the recipe as well as the packaging. The manufacturer is still ELSA.
Migros has only changed the packaging... everything else is the same. It says so at the bottom.

Hello everyone, we had exactly the same discussion at home. We are all certain that the recipe must have changed. The cottage cheese is now much more liquid and no longer has the same consistency or taste, which is now rather bland. We find it very difficult to believe that this is the same product. Do other heavy users feel the same way?

I’ve noticed a change too. This cottage cheese used to be my absolute favorite—nothing else even came close—and as mentioned above, ever since the packaging changed with the new lid, it tastes different—unfortunately, not as good to me anymore.

Is iodized salt used when adding table salt?
Hello SarahLH, Migros cottage cheese uses non-iodized table salt. According to the Ordinance on the Addition of Vitamins, Minerals, and Other Substances to Foodstuffs (SR 817.022.32), iodized table salt must be labeled as such. The list of ingredients therefore shows whether non-iodized ("table salt," "sea salt") or iodized table salt ("iodized table salt") has been used. Best regards, Your M-Infoline Team

Thank you for your response. It is unfortunate that non-iodized salt is used, as iodine is known to be essential for life. Iodine is crucial for thyroid function, which regulates metabolism and development; iodized salt is a simple way to compensate for this deficiency without unnecessarily increasing salt consumption. So if the cottage cheese already contains a relatively high amount of salt, why not at least use iodized salt? I would ask you to pass this concern on to your quality assurance department. Using iodized salt instead of non-iodized salt is a simple change with a big impact. Thank you very much for your efforts. Best regards

Has a new recipe been introduced? The cottage cheese is now firmer and contains less liquid... It now reminds me more of Hirz cottage cheese... I used to like the budget version better...

Hi! The question really is : why did you remove the Budget version which was creamier and had a better texture and only kept this one which is dry and much closer to anything else from the competition (Hirt for example)? I second what this person says: the recipe of the M-Budget cottage cheese was way better and smooth. Don’t think it is a problem with a particular batch but a basic recipe issue. I for one miss the old recipe a lot.

As a result, there are deviations that match your experience. In retrospect, it is no longer possible to determine which facts apply and where in the value chain they occurred. Please take out the sugar, it's unnecessary
Hello indios, we have revised the recipe for this product. We have removed the natural flavoring without replacing it. We have also replaced the added water with whey.
