It's great that there is now a budget coconut milk! My question: This product contains a comparatively high amount of extract (96% vs. 60% otherwise), what does that mean in concrete terms? Is this milk creamier and more intense? Spontaneously, I would have thought that more coconut extract would make the product more expensive. On the other hand, there are additives in this product that are not in other coconut milk products, how come? Thank you.

Hello Raffzgi, thank you for your patience. Coconut extract is obtained by pressing coconut flesh with water. Basically, coconut extracts with 60 % and 96 % do not differ significantly. To achieve 18 % in the end, the manufacturer only has to add 3-4 % water to a coconut extract quantity of 96 %. With 60% coconut extract, the manufacturer adds 39-40% more water. In the end, the fat content in the finished product is still the same. The only difference in processing is how much water is added before or after the above steps. Water is added to maintain the structural integrity of the coconut cream texture and avoid separation during the shelf life, especially in winter. Best regards, your M-Infoline Team

You're saying it's more or less the same, just more or less water is added at different points in the process? And what about the emulsifiers and stabilizers that are not in the other coconut milk products?

The texture is generally not creamier, nor is the taste more intense. Your assumption regarding the water content is correct: with a coconut extract content of 60%, manufacturers use 39-40% more water. A difference could arise if one contains additives (emulsifiers and stabilizers) and the other does not.
