I cannot find a lot number beginning with L. Next to the expiry date I find the number "271A2" (or "271AZ"?). Under the sticker "Action 2x200g" there is another number: 2042.128.

Hello LilliMarie78, thank you for your feedback on the preferred butter. We are sorry that the butter rolls you bought did not taste as usual. We have arranged for the supplier to check the goods. The quality characteristics (smell and taste) were in order. The measured pH value was also flawless. As this is a natural product, the different quality of the milk and cream can cause small differences. We only have limited influence on this. We also bought a double pack of organic preferred butter, just like LilliMarie78. Same expiry date "05.12.2023", same additional number "27AZ" or "...2". Date of purchase 12.10.2023 in the Bremgarten Aargau branch. Unfortunately, both Mödeli are inedible. They have a moldy smell and a moldy taste. Note: After discovering the moldy taste, the Buttermödeli were thrown away. After reading LilliMarie78's article, we took one of the Mödeli out of the bin again and photographed the side with the expiry date. Have any other customers had this experience? Hello uozsoy36, thank you for your questions. To which we can both answer no. Organic butter is a spreadable fat made from milk cream. We process the cream in the butter churn until the fat can combine to form butter grains. We wash these grains with fresh water. Finally, we shape and pack the butter. It affects practically all best-before dates: now 06.01.23 P; 13.01.23 S; 20.01.23 P. Yes, the packaging is usually already open sideways on the Migros shelf and also opens in the fridge at home. This is despite the fact that we keep squeezing the packaging shut. It really is a problem that should be solved. Thank you very much. R.K.

At the same time, we share your opinion that the packaging should not come loose in this form. For this reason, we tested samples from the same production series. We did not discover any deviations. Our production documents also did not allow us to draw any conclusions that could explain your experience. Furthermore, we rely on a compatible adhesive that has worked well for our purposes to date. In view of these results, we cannot understand the cause. As an immediate measure, we are monitoring our packing stations. If we identify a source of error, we will make the necessary adjustments. The aim here is to offer our customers a wider choice of organic butters, since customer needs and uses for this product are themselves diverse. As with conventional (non-organic) butter, our customers can choose between choice and cooking butter. We have kept the same packaging for the new organic choice butter as for the "old" organic butter, but its quality is better because it is a choice butter. If you'd like to get back to the quality of the organic butter that has been discontinued, we invite you to buy the new organic cooking butter, on sale in larger Migros stores.
