Same problem for me. Milk bought 08.02. 2025. Best before 21.02. Opened on 14. Milk was full of lumps. I had to throw it away. First and last time I buy organic milk from Migros. Never had this problem at the Coop.
Hello Pit111, thank you very much for your message. We're sorry you've had problems with our organic whole milk! We understand your disappointment. Given your description, we assume that the milk carton was damaged or suffered a break in the cold chain.
Despite the most rigorous controls, it can never be completely ruled out that desterilization may occur between samples, for example through microscopic degradation (micro-hole) of the packaging during filling or transport.
Thickening (coagulation) of dairy products can also be the result of a break in the constancy of the cold chain. If the temperature rises above 5°C, bacteria can develop in the milk, degrading its quality.
We have asked our manufacturer to step up the corresponding controls, and to do everything in its power to ensure that such problems do not recur.
We hope you will give our organic quality milk another chance. Sincerely, your M-Infoline team

Hello We bought the organic whole milk from them for the first time. I think I'll throw away the whole 6-pack. This milk tastes very strange (really like from the stable). Kind regards A dissatisfied customer Sereno De Vettor
Hello Sereno, thank you for your message. We're sorry that you weren't able to enjoy the milk ☹ You're right to contact us. This gives us the opportunity to make further clarifications for you. For the time being, please let us know the best-before date and the batch/lot number (a combination of numbers and letters). Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Hello M-Infoline Tea, I have kept one bottle unopened. I have emptied the others. Expiry date/best before date 11.08.24 Batch/lot number 7613404845424. Good evening Sereno De Vettor

Another liter of organic milk had to be disposed of because the milk became flaky/lumpy. The best-before date is listed as 01.06.2023, but the milk is already inedible two days before this date, even though the milk has always been in the fridge. Unfortunately, I have already had to dispose of several liters, and now I just buy the milk from the competition, as there is no adequate response to this problem. Where has the quality of the past gone?
Hello Alex_de_Souza, thank you very much for your message. We are sorry that you have not been able to enjoy the milk several times. At the same time, we appreciate you contacting us. This gives us the opportunity to look into the cause of the flocculation. For further clarification, we would ask you to send us the batch or lot number (a combination of numbers and letters). It would also be helpful for us to know where you store the packaging in the fridge (fridge door, middle shelf, etc.). Thank you in advance for your valuable support. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Had exactly the same problem today. Expiration date today, still stored unopened at 5 degrees in the fridge (door). Massively flaky and inedible...batch L0001120112
Hello Optimo_BE, we are sorry that you were unable to consume the milk. The reason for this deviation in quality is probably the packaging. Tetra packs are made up of several layers (cardboard, aluminum and plastic). If one of these layers is damaged, microscopic tears can occur. These injuries are usually barely visible to the naked eye, but allow air to penetrate the product, causing it to spoil prematurely.
It is important to store chilled milk in the middle compartment of the fridge and not in the door. This applies in particular to organic whole milk Past. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Good evening I have also noticed that the milk has been flaking very quickly recently. I had to dispose of 4 sealed packs a few weeks ago because the milk was practically yogurt. The shelf life was nowhere near reached. The same thing happened again this morning... Could it be that something is wrong during transportation or storage in the store (too warm)? Thank you.
Hello lisina84, thank you very much for your message. We appreciate you drawing our attention to discrepancies that you have noticed several times recently. Given your experience, we understand why you suspect improper storage. Unfortunately, without further details, we are unable to trace the manufacturing process. However, we have another suspicion: the Tetra packs consist of several layers (cardboard, aluminum and plastic). If one of these layers is slightly damaged, microscopic cracks can appear. They are barely visible to the naked eye, but allow air to penetrate. This leads to the consistency you describe. As an immediate measure, we asked all areas involved to ensure proper handling. We are continuing to pursue this issue step by step. Ultimately, our aim is for our milk to meet all requirements. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We hope that our approach will suit you and that you will give us another chance to convince you of the impeccable quality of our milk. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Good evening Tonight I had 2 bottles of broken milk again: L0001111375, expiry 21.09.22. One opened this morning and already broken in the evening. One freshly opened and already broken. With these two it is now more than 10 broken milk bottles since July. I'm seriously considering buying the milk elsewhere...
Hello lisina84, thank you for your renewed comment. We discussed your request with our specialist department. They checked the corresponding retained samples and found no deviations.
There can be various reasons for premature spoilage. For example, due to non-compliance with the cold chain or mechanical impact (knocking, dropping, jamming, etc.). The packaging can be damaged during the entire logistics process (storage, distribution). As already described, microscopic hairline cracks can occur. This removes the protective effect of the packaging and the milk can spoil, even if the packaging appears intact at first glance. In retrospect, we can no longer determine the cause. However, we are keeping a closer eye on the issue. Of course, you have the option of returning the goods to your store at any time. Does this always affect the same store? Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Thank you for your reply. I personally think it's a shame to have to dispose of so much milk simply because it's not packaged appropriately. That's why I will change products as long as this packaging is used. Yes, I have always bought the milk in the same store.
Hello lisina84, thank you very much for your feedback. We will be happy to pass this on to the specialist department. We hope that your experience with our products will be flawless and to your complete satisfaction in the future. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why has the milk recently started to go bad (flaky/lumpy) before the best-before date? Side note: The milk was stored in a cool place after purchase and was reopened, but is still flaky/lumpy. Packaging opened: 19.06.2022 Best-before date: 25.06.2022 Batch number: L0001108595
Hello Alex_de_Souza, thank you for your message. The reason for this deviation in quality is probably the packaging. The Tetra packs are made up of several layers (cardboard, aluminum and plastic). If one of these layers is damaged, microscopic cracks can occur. You are welcome to return the affected bottles to your store's customer service and you will receive new packs in return. Hello=) I've noticed that organic milk (which I never had any problems with before) has been going bad much more quickly recently. Sometimes it has only been opened for 1 day and is not yet past its best-before date. Does anyone else have this problem? As I said, I have been buying this milk for a long time and it has never gone bad so quickly before.
Hello Pirana_2, thank you for your message. We regret that the milk has recently given you cause for complaint. We will be happy to look into this. So that we can use a production series as a guide, we would ask you to provide us with the best-before date and the batch number (starting with L) of a pack. Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Hello, thank you for your reply! The best-before date of the last milk that went bad so quickly is 29.11.21, the batch number is L0001101682 Li2. Kind regards
Hello Pirana_2, thank you for your feedback. The review of the production logs did not reveal any indications of deviations and/or faults during the manufacture of the product. We have also compared our retained samples with other productions and could not find anything conspicuous. The adaptation of the packaging only involves a change of packaging material, whereby the milk production process is the same as before. We are therefore unable to find out why some of your bottles became thicker just one day after opening. This is because other factors, such as storage, also play a role in the shelf life after opening. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Ok, thank you very much for the clarification! I haven't changed anything about the storage (in the fridge, sealed bottle) - then it's probably something else=)

The answer from M-Infoline is not convincing. The statement "The environmental impact of the beverage carton and the PE bottle are comparable" is pretty much glossed over. The FOEN page quoted clearly states: "The study also confirms that the separate collections introduced a long time ago make ecological sense. This waste separation directly by consumers results in high recycling rates and good quality of the collected material." And: "The results show that for the large quantities of separately collected beverage packaging, recycling is ecologically more advantageous than incineration in a waste incineration plant." So what is the real reason for the change? Cost optimization? Better graphic design options?
I'd say the main thing is to change something again... Lately, I've noticed a lot of things that Migros is throwing out or changing in its product range. Milk is by no means the only product. Migros, keep up the good work :-(

Why is organic milk now sold in tetrapacks? That's not sustainable!
Hello Monika2112, thank you very much for the message. As already mentioned in other posts, we have switched to "Tetra Edge" (Tetra Pak) packaging. The environmental impact of the beverage carton and the PE bottle (plastic bottle) are comparable, there is no significant difference. This is despite the fact that recycling options are not (yet) widespread. A public study is available on this: https://www.bafu.admin.ch/bafu/de/home/themen/abfall/mitteilungen.msg-id-54391.html. In addition, thanks to the new opening system, we have greatly improved the level of convenience and the packaging is now easier to handle. We are happy to take your feedback on the changeover to the specialist department. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Hello, I've already said that I'm annoyed by this change. I'll just give you a tip, have a look at the competition, where you can find milk of the same quality in a bottle to bring back. Kind regards

I'm really annoyed about the constant changes at Migros. They are losing a customer who, until recently, was a loyal customer who for the most part only shopped at Migros. In this case, why did they change the packaging from the recyclable HDPE bottle to the waste-producing Tetra pack? I don't want pretty packaging, I want good milk. From now on, organic whole milk is off our Migros shopping list. Fortunately, we found it again at the coop. A few centimes more expensive but also good. Oh yes, by the way, our family needs at least 12 - 14 liters of milk a week... ];-)
Hello orbitz, thank you for your feedback on the milk packaging, which we have switched to "Tetra Edge" (Tetra Pak). The environmental impact of the beverage carton and the PE bottle (plastic bottle) are comparable, there is no significant difference. We will be happy to take your feedback on board and keep an eye on it. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
I believe you that the environmental impact is about the same, but the impact on my waste garbage can is many times higher with the Tetra packaging. To be precise, 100% higher!!! As already mentioned, we now buy our milk from a different supplier, as they even have several plastic bottle options.

Will you be offering organic milk from suckler cows from the new year?
Thank you for your question Bluechristal. The legal situation for mother-bonded calf rearing is somewhat uncertain, which is why farmers who produce such milk cannot label it accordingly. This is currently to be changed. There is a proposal at political level, but it has not yet been finalized: https://www.parlament.ch/de/ratsbetrieb/suche-curia-vista/geschaeft?AffairId=20183849. Migros does not offer such milk. There are some farmers under the Demeter label who practice mother- or lamb-supported calf rearing - but not all of them. It is therefore not certain whether Demeter milk meets your requirements. Our requirements for sustainable milk (https://bit.ly/2qEn4Mg) also include aspects relating to calf rearing. In a specific program for calves, we support animal-friendly husbandry, needs-based feeding and the promotion of health. Kind regards, your M-Infoline team
