Why are the eggs packed in plastic again instead of cardboard? The picture gives the impression of sustainable packaging, but in the store and online they are packed in plastic, why?
Hello Waldmenscho, thank you for your message and your interest in sustainable packaging.
We are currently using plastic packaging for our eggs, as cardboard packaging is not available at the moment due to supply bottlenecks. To ensure that the eggs are still available, we had to switch to plastic at short notice. We plan to switch back to carton packaging in the next two weeks.
However, we have noticed that the switch from plastic to carton packaging has led to a drop in sales. We were able to compensate for this decline with the current plastic packaging. If this effect is confirmed again, we may stick with plastic packaging in the long term, as many customers apparently prefer the better visibility and handling.
Thank you for your feedback. It is important to us to reconcile the needs of our customers with sustainable solutions and we will continue to monitor this closely. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why do the eggs have approx. 50% placenta in the egg white for 2 months? A reject rate of 50% is anything but a quality product.
Hello cthuer, thank you for your message. In order to get to the bottom of your findings, please send us the following information and photos using this contact form:
- the best-before date
- the batch or lot number
You will generally find the latter next to the best-before date. It usually begins with the letter L or a mixture of letters and numbers. Thank you in advance for your valuable support. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why are there no more organic picnic eggs in cardboard packaging? Unfortunately, the shelf has been empty for a long time.
Hello Anello13, thank you for your question. The product is generally available. However, quantities are currently being reduced. It is therefore possible that the shelves were already empty when you visited. Kind regards, your M-Infoline team

Which farm do the eggs come from? How can I find out?
Hello RiodeJaneiro, thank you for your interesting question. You can use the egg code to find out more about the origin. Enter the code here: https://corporate.migros.ch/de/nachhaltigkeit/nachhaltige-produkte/inhalte-herkunft/eier/code.html. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Now I can't find a code. Have they been painted over? Can I find it on the egg or on the packaging? I can't find anything on the egg, on the packaging it only has an L-No. under the best before date.
Hello RiodeJaneiro, sorry - our answer referred to the raw eggs. So that we can find out the origin, please let us know the lot number in question (which begins with L) and the best-before date. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Then my question is answered, you can't check it online like you can with raw eggs. :-) But yes, now I'm interested anyway. Lot no.: L40772040 and date 13.05.2023. Thank you!
Hello RiodeJaneiro, Based on the lot number on the packaging and the date, the eggs can be assigned to a batch in the respective packaging, and retained samples of this batch are put back so that the eggs can be compared with each other in the event of any quality problems. In the case of dyed eggs, however, the origin code of the eggs (which is otherwise always found on raw eggs) is overcolored. This is why it is no longer possible for us to trace the eggs back to the farm. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, I really like your organic eggs, but I'm getting more and more annoyed that the eggs are almost impossible to peel. They regularly look like they've been nibbled on 😟, unsightly! Can you please explain to me why this is only the case with organic eggs?
Hello beat-thoma, thank you for your post. How well or poorly an egg can be peeled depends on its age. Very fresh eggs are difficult to peel, which is why eggs that are to be cooked and dyed are usually stored for a few weeks. In addition, eggs laid by a young flock can also be difficult to peel. We assume that a combination of these facts was responsible for this deviation in quality. During the dyeing process, it is not always possible to completely avoid the possibility of some very fresh eggs being included. In such cases, we have no means of remedying the problem. It often helps to peel the eggs under running water. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear Migros I only buy organic eggs from Switzerland. But why this plastic packaging? Sure, because of the colors and the customer experience. But: You could pack them in cardboard just like the raw organic eggs (as already mentioned below). Solution: You could print the colors on the label so that the customer knows that they are dyed, cooked eggs or can see what colors they are. Please check.
Hi Ian76, thank you for your input on the packaging of boiled and dyed eggs. For these eggs, we have deliberately chosen packaging where the eggs are visible in the packaging. We have already carried out tests in carton packaging and unfortunately found that these did not sell. We are therefore sticking with the transparent packaging for the time being. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Dear Migros I think it's a great pity that plastic packaging is still used for these organic eggs. The competition seems to be using cardboard packaging somehow. Couldn't Migros give it another try? I would be very grateful!
Hello Vielfrass, thank you for your request. We can well understand your reasoning. Optimal packaging is also important to us. The clarifications have taken some time. We are sorry that we are only getting back to you now. Good things come to those who wait :-). We are pleased to inform you that a corresponding project is already underway. We expect to switch to alternative materials this year and ask you to be patient. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Hello Migros Team :) I've been wondering for a while what color this is exactly? Is it really an organic color with this metallic effect? Can you get the color in Migros?
Hello blubbbiz, thank you very much for your exciting request. How nice that you are interested in the colors! We are happy to confirm that they are of natural origin and licensed by Bio Suisse. For example, carmine is responsible for the bright red, while annato seeds provide the rich orange, etc. A natural lacquer, obtained from the lacquer scale insect, is used as a binding agent and to seal the colorations. Presumably this provides the shine that you refer to as the "metallic effect". You can't buy these products, but you can find similar variants on our website. We hope you find our little excursion into the world of coloring helpful. Sunny greetings, your M-Infoline team

Hello, wouldn't it be possible to sell these eggs loose all year round? This is also possible around Easter and even with the raw eggs... Then we could use the same packaging again and again. The eggs would be protected and we could save on new packaging. We would certainly be grateful for a positive answer. MfG Chlara
Hello Chlara, thank you for your question. In view of the energy consumption, it makes sense to buy already cooked eggs instead of cooking them yourself at home. All the more reason for us to understand your concern. However, the fact is that the demand for boiled open eggs is too low throughout the year. As demand decreases, the risk of spoilage in stores and food waste increases. Our focus is therefore on packaging - with R-PET, we use packaging that is as light and environmentally friendly as possible. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello Very good eggs. Unfortunately the packaging is impractical: 1. not ecological 2. the shelf life is not visible after opening. the same packaging as the fresh organic eggs would be ideal. thank you very much. kind regards Monica Romero
Hello MonicaRomero Thank you for your inquiry. For the boiled/dyed organic eggs, a packaging was deliberately chosen in which the eggs are visible in the packaging. This would also be conceivable with cardboard packaging. However, there are then places where the product is no longer protected. Various studies by manufacturers also show that PET packaging is not necessarily worse for the environment than cardboard packaging. PET egg packaging can also be handed in at the PET collection points in Migros. We are aware of the problem of shelf life. Our manufacturer is already discussing a solution to the problem or testing variants, but so far without success. Unfortunately, we cannot reveal any more about this at the moment. We hope for your understanding and wish you all the best from the M-Infoline team.

I absolutely agree with migros8! The organic label should not be characterized by unnecessary plastic packaging... It should indicate the natural origin of the products!!!
Hello basel53
Thank you for your message.
We have deliberately chosen packaging in which the boiled eggs are visible. This is more difficult with cardboard packaging and certain parts of the product would then no longer be protected. In addition, a study by the manufacturer shows that PET packaging is not necessarily worse than the cardboard version.
Nevertheless, we have forwarded your suggestion to the product managers for consideration.
We hope for your understanding and wish you a wonderful spring afternoon.

I also wonder whether the plastic packaging makes sense. The carton boxes could be labeled differently so that consumers can see that the eggs are dyed. It might also be possible to change the design of the packaging so that the eggs can be seen through holes in the carton without jeopardizing the protection of the eggs.
Hello migros8
Thank you for your feedback.
For the boiled dyed eggs, we deliberately chose packaging where the eggs are visible inside the packaging. This would also be conceivable with cardboard packaging, but there would then be places where the egg would no longer be protected. A study by our producer also shows that PET packaging does not necessarily have to be worse than carton packaging.
Nevertheless, we will forward your suggestion to the responsible body for consideration.
Kind regards from the M-Infoline team
