Dear Sir/Madam,

I have some inquiries regarding your product.

Is any type of alcohol used as a hidden processing aid ingredient in this product or the production of its raw materials? Are any pork derivatives used in this product?
Your assistance in providing this information would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards

Dear uozsoy36, we are pleased to inform you that neither alcohol of any kind nor any types of pork derivatives are used in this product. Kind regards, your M-Infoline team

Why are there now also (much more expensive, although from abroad) whole grain oat flakes (https://migipedia.migros.ch/en/104272900000?community=qanda)? At the bottom you write that all oat flakes are whole grain ("Due to the manufacturing process, all types of oat flakes are whole grain, as they are made from the whole grain"), which can also be read elsewhere (https://www.maggi.de/kochratgeber/haferflocken-naehrwerte-inhaltsstoffe/, https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haferflocken).

Nothing has been changed? Are the 5 varieties schln long (organic ch, organic auslane, organic gluten-free, fine and coarse in 1 kg) or which ones do you mean? The gluten-free ones were also previously labeled with whole grain oat flakes

That may be; I only recently saw or noticed the "whole grain oat flakes" where I usually shop (Alnatura). Either way, a different term should not be used if there is no difference in terms of the whole grain property. But maybe there is, because the nutritional values are slightly different.

Hello Hartobar, thank you very much for your post. We have noticed that there can be some uncertainty when it comes to the labeling of our oat flakes. In particular, there seems to be confusion about the distinction between our "wholemeal oat flakes", "Swiss oat flakes" and "wholemeal oat flakes". We would therefore like to clarify that all our oat flakes are made from whole grain. The difference lies in the origin (import or Switzerland) and whether the product is gluten-free or not. The term "Swiss oat flakes" refers to oat flakes that are produced in Switzerland. These are also whole grain products like the other two varieties. We have chosen to emphasize the origin in order to highlight the added value of locally produced products. However, we recognize that this can lead to misunderstandings and will therefore be revising our product names. For the gluten-free "whole grain oat flakes", the gluten-free certification is visible at the bottom of the packaging and on the side. However, we will look into how we can place this information more prominently. We have not made any changes to the oatmeal products themselves. The misunderstandings are due to the redesign of our packaging. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Do organic oats from Switzerland really cost more than three times more to buy than conventional oats from Switzerland? I think the price difference used to be less extreme.

Hello argonori, thank you for contacting us. We only increase prices when it is unavoidable. Migros is committed to offering the best value for money and will continue to reduce prices wherever possible. The organic Swiss oat flakes are now Bud-certified, which means stricter organic regulations, which in turn means more work in the cultivation process and therefore higher costs. Various sub-components play a role in the price. Migros is forced to pass on some of these additional costs to its customers. At the same time, however, we have also been able to achieve savings across the entire value chain. These savings cushion the price increases. The period of validity of the new prices depends in particular on further price developments in procurement and production. Migros will of course endeavor to adjust prices again as soon as the situation eases in the long term. We hope this statement gives you a little insight and wish you a wonderful day. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I would be interested to know whether the article will be available again in the near future?

Hello Sudoka, thank you for your question. We assume that the product should be available again from calendar week 34. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why are you running a promotion (from 21.6.22) on oat flakes if they have not been available for months?

Hi MEFra, we plan our promotions well in advance, which is why we couldn't have anticipated this. What's more, our promotion is not just for oatmeal - 20% is available on all Migros organic breakfast kernels, seeds, flakes, flakes and pops, packaged and on sale (excluding Alnatura). I can't find any more Swiss oat flakes in the stores..... are they no longer available? It would be a shame :-(

Hello Schaeremotz, thank you for your inquiry. We do indeed not have any Swiss goods in stock at the moment due to a shortage of raw materials. We hope to have them back on our shelves from August. In the meantime, we recommend our organic wholemeal oat flakes (104202400000) from foreign production. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Thank God they are only temporarily not on sale! Miss them too

These organic Swiss rolled oats are great, to start with, but in Ireland there are much finer (thinner rolled) rolled oats that are perfect for making porridge, better than these. As I prefer porridge in its natural state, I don't want to switch to a porridge mix with other ingredients and would be happy to have extra-thin rolled oats. Could there be oat flakes like this in the future?

Hello BoR, thank you for your input! There are currently no plans to include such an item. We only recently removed a similar product from our range (Alnatura oat flakes melt-in-the-mouth, article number 1042.273). Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Can you tell me how this oatmeal was made? Thank you very much!

Hello AmeliaS, thank you for your question. We will be happy to provide you with information. First, our supplier cleans the raw oats (e.g. from straw) and treats them with steam and dry heat (kiln) for several hours. This creates the typical nutty aroma of the oat flakes. The heat weakens the activity of certain enzymes (lipases), which otherwise cause a rancid, bitter taste during storage. The husks loosen during the drying process. They are then separated from the oat kernel in a centrifugal huller. After the hulling process, the oat kernels are sorted out mechanically on a paddy table separator. The oat kernels, which are intended for tender flakes or small flakes, are now processed into oat groats - for this purpose they are placed on a groat cutter, where they are crushed. The oat flakes are given their final shape on a flaking chair by flattening the oat kernels or oat groats between two smooth rollers under high pressure after conditioning with steam. The flakes are then air-dried, sieved and packaged. The production process means that all types of oat flakes are wholemeal, as they are made from the whole grain. In addition to the endosperm, the germ, the seed coat and most of the nutrients are retained. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Can you tell me when the Swiss oat flakes will be back on the shelves? They have been missing from all Migros stores in my region for some time now.

Hello rekre89, the organic Swiss oat flakes are not available due to a crop failure. They will be available again from the end of July / beginning of August. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Can you tell me why this item "Bio Schweizer Haferflöckli" has been missing from your shelves for some time? Is there an equivalent alternative? No wholemeal please!

Hello marlene2018, the organic Swiss oat flakes are in delivery interruption due to a crop failure. They will be available again from the end of July / beginning of August. In the meantime, you might like to try the M-Classic Terra Suisse Haferflöckli. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
