Bponjour, Do you ever answer questions asked by MIGIPEDIA users? For example, about the E491??? And many other questions..... Thank you
Hello bobker and thank you for your message. Depending on the subject concerned, our investigations with the relevant department may take a little longer, which means we can't always respond within a very short timeframe. We hope you understand. Yours sincerely, the M-Infoline team
Thank you very much for your answer, very nice of you. Have a nice day

E491 should be avoided. Wouldn't it be possible to adapt the recipe to avoid it?
Hello Sandro28, the emulsifier E491 is necessary in organic margarine to ensure that the mixture of vegetable fat and water remains stable. However, we are currently investigating whether the dough can be made in the future without margarine, but with olive oil. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Super!
Thank you for your reply. It would indeed be a good solution, and I hope it will be adopted!

When and how does MIgros intend to move away from palm oil, including the only apparently sustainable RSPO palm oil? It seems to be in dozens of products that should no longer be bought because they are very questionable from an environmental, climate and human rights point of view. I'm sure the Migros sustainability department is aware of the big problem and needs pressure from customers on the one hand and permission from the top to finally do something to keep its promise to the next generation on the other. Migros should be able to do this, it's not Lidl or Aldi...
Hoi Traurig_Winti, thank you for your contribution. Migros established the first criteria for sustainable palm oil production back in 1999 together with the WWF. Migros received an award for this pioneering achievement at the UN Environment Summit in Johannesburg in 2002. In 2004, Migros and the WWF then founded an international organization, the Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). This organization brings together representatives from palm plantations, the processing industry, social and environmental organizations, banks and retailers. It is therefore a multi-stakeholder initiative that aims to integrate all members of the supply chain. The RSPO has developed the RSPO Principles and Criteria based on the criteria for sustainable palm oil cultivation developed by WWF and Migros. The RSPO Principles and Criteria improve the production of one of the most important oils on the market. As all players in the palm oil business are represented in the RSPO, the criteria are broadly supported. Migros played a leading role in this process. Palm oil is one of the few vegetable fats that is solid and can be grown in the required quantities. Palm oil is therefore very popular for products where firmness is required. This means that there is no need for artificial hardening. There is no real alternative at the moment, which is why it is somewhat difficult to do without it. We hope this has helped you and wish you a good day. Best wishes, your M-Infoline team
That's total nonsense! Migros is using palm oil in more and more products that didn't contain any before, because it is simply a cheap raw material. Absolutely NO product needs palm oil, it used to work without it. Sustainable palm oil does not exist, even if Migros keeps saying it does.

Dear Migros, the RSPO label is heavily criticized and the NGOs only have around 10% of the vote. The RSPO label is a minimum standard label and not an eco-label. Migros' "sustainable" palm oil plantations are in reality blatant monocultures, with massive use of pesticides on previously virgin forest land (which was simply not cleared by the same company that cultivates it). The RSPO label is also subject to corruption, human rights violations, etc. And: palm oil produces more CO2 than butter. I didn't make this up; you can read about it on Wikipedia: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roundtable_on_Sustainable_Palm_Oil#KritikWith hundreds of products, you are violating your intention to be sustainable and leave an intact world for the next generation. Please do something! And P.S.: You can also make dough without palm oil, just like you used to be able to do with olive oil. I'm happy to pay the few centimes extra if the tigers don't die out for it!
