Hello, how can it be that pine nuts are organic or not organic? Pine nuts are not bred or grown organically - are they? Pine nuts used to be sold as non-organic in Migros, then suddenly they were organic. It seems to me that they want to justify the high price with organic - is that possible? They are very expensive kernels, even in the country of origin, I know that. It's not just about the price. I really just want to understand what is organic about pine nuts. Thank you

Hello ralphino, thank you for your question. Pine nuts with the organic label are subject to the same rules as all other organic products. In order to be allowed to call themselves organic, the areas are inspected locally by an independent certification body. For example, no intensive farming is permitted in the region where the pine nuts grow. This ensures that the pine nuts do not come into contact with pesticides. In order to guarantee organic quality, we carry out pesticide analyses on every batch of organic products. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

In which section can I find the seeds? I haven't found them in the nuts or lettuce seeds section, thank you very much

Hello Killergorilla, thank you for your inquiry. The organic pine nuts are located in the dried fruit and nuts sections. However, you are of course welcome to contact the sales staff, who will be happy to show you the exact location within the store. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why has the pack size been changed from 100 to 75 grams? Many recipes require 100 grams. This means I have to buy 2 packs and the 2nd opened pack quickly loses quality.

Hello Szhxde, thank you for your message. We are happy to provide you with the following information: The change from 100 g to 75 g was made because the price of pine nuts from Italy has risen sharply due to reduced availability. Furthermore, the results of our market analyses have shown that the smaller quantities are more popular. We are happy to take your message as an opportunity to keep an eye on this issue. If necessary, we will make adjustments. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why was the price increased by approx. 10%?

Hello SeheranCH, thank you for your question. The reason for the price increase is due to the availability of raw materials. A beetle originating from North Africa spread in Europe and damaged a large part of the harvest last year, up to 80% of the yield is unusable. As there are fewer pine nuts available for this reason, prices have risen accordingly. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Wonderful! The "real ones", the "best"!!! I'm delighted! :-D One question, not so much to answer, but to think about, as a suggestion, so to speak: If Migros already sells first-class pine nuts, why don't they advertise this on the packaging? E.g. "Pinus Pinea pine nuts, the real thing for your pesto", or "Species: Pinus Pinea, the queen of pine nuts".
