How do we know if this is 100% pure authentic extra virgin olive oil and not cut with seed oil. There is a huge scam in southern Italy whereby cheap seed oil is used and chlorophyl for color. I have enjoyed this product for many years but I’m wondering how we can be sure about its origins and purity.
Hello WorkerSnail, all our olive oils are thoroughly analysed in our in-house laboratory in Horn. Alongside the analysis of the free fatty acids and the peroxide value, the fatty acid distribution is also an integral part of the analysis plan for olive oil. The fatty acid distribution can be used to ascertain whether the product in question is an original natural product or whether "foreign oils" have been added.
