I bought the lamb's lettuce on 24.9.22, packed on 21.9..... I saw that other packs had a packing date of 15.9.(!!) - and were also offered in a basket without refrigeration (room temperature). Is this really normal? A day later, I opened the lamb's lettuce and had to sort out some rotten leaves.... I can't imagine what that would have looked like with the pack from 15.9. Incidentally, I left the organic iceberg lettuce lying around, the outer leaves were almost completely rotten... the organic peppers were also gray, at least the first one I took out of the 3-pack... a very disappointing vegetable purchase in this store....!

How long can this salad be sold in the store? Mine was packed on 19.02.2022 and I bought it on 26.02.2022 in a sad state. They really messed up!

Is it grown under glass? It has hardly any bite and little flavor. It reminds me of the cheap lamb's lettuce that is sometimes served in restaurants.

M Juniors Grenzacherstrasse, Basel The salad was fresh. The leaf rosettes were beautiful. There's nothing wrong with it, but unfortunately it's probably not field-grown lettuce, but grown under glass. In my opinion, such lettuce has less "bite", gets soggy more quickly in the dressing and has less flavour. I'm now switching to the conventional "from the region". You have to wash it more because it's grown outdoors, but it has the bite I want and the fine, nutty flavor.
