How long will Migros continue to raise the price of these eggs? They used to be around 4.50. The 4.95 was my pain threshold. Since then I've been buying organic Swiss eggs at Denner. With Denner organic eggs, even the brother is reared (hen & cockerel). Also with the Bio Suisse seal.
Hello Ian76, thank you for your inquiry. Our clarifications took longer than expected. We apologize that we are only now getting back to you with news. The price increases for organic eggs are mainly due to the increased costs incurred by egg producers. In particular, expenditure on feed has risen significantly. The prices of a discounter such as Denner can only be compared with those of Migros to a limited extent. This is due, among other things, to the large selection of products, the different presentation of goods and the additional staff per store, etc. These factors also affect prices. Such factors also have an impact on the price. As soon as the situation on the market eases, we will review the situation again and make adjustments. Incidentally, we are currently working on ensuring that the cockerels are also reared with our organic eggs. From January, some of our organic eggs will be chicken and rooster eggs. We hope these lines help to clarify the situation. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
It was less than a month ago when I wrote this. What do I see today? Another price increase to 5.35! You're really overdoing it - until the customers stay away. 4.70 at Denner, by the way.

@Ian76, these aren't organic, but they're just as good and over €2 cheaper. Organic is available for 4.69. Migros is becoming less and less my store. https://www.aldi-now.ch/de/nature-suisse-freilandeier-6er-pack/8825099681793
If they are too expensive for you, then just take free-range eggs from the region... you really have luxury problems...

1. your name is not Ian76. 2. my answer has nothing to do with the luxury problem. 3. unfortunately you can't block users here, otherwise I would have been on the list for a long time.

Good afternoon. I wanted to ask when you will be able to buy organic eggs without packaging. I can recycle the packaging but in my opinion no packaging would be even more sustainable. Lg Chlara
Hello Chlara, thank you for your inquiry regarding open organic eggs. The specialist department has informed us that we sold open organic eggs in the Migros Zurich cooperative some time ago. Unfortunately, demand was very low, so we removed this offer from our range again. There are currently no plans to relaunch the range - we hope you will understand. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

How are male chicks dealt with during the rearing of the hens? Are they killed and if so, how?
Hello Andi_O, thank you for your question. As the male chicks of the hens do not lay eggs, they are killed immediately after birth. The only exception is Demeter with its "Hahn im Glück" initiative. The guidelines stipulate that the brothers must be reared under biodynamic conditions. As we are striving to change this situation, we launched a pilot trial called "Respeggt" in the Zurich and Geneva cooperatives in November 2020. Respeggt eggs are eggs that come from laying hens that have undergone sexing while still in the egg. This prevents male chicks from being hatched and later killed. From June 2021, all Migros Cooperatives will be participating in the project. You can find more information here. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello Can you tell me for sure whether the hens are fed with soy or not! And where can I get soy-free eggs?
Hello Soja, our answer from 7 months ago has not yet changed. At the moment, only the 6-pack eggs from the Ticino, Eastern Switzerland and Neuchâtel-Fribourg cooperatives are soy-free. But good news for you: the first organic eggs from hens fed without soy will soon be added to our range. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Could you also add the organic eggs on Migipedia, which are soy-free? These eggs will completely replace the current organic eggs by the end of 2017. By the way, what is the current status?
Hello ivan92, the organic eggs without soy are currently on sale in the Neuchâtel-Fribourg, Eastern Switzerland and Ticino cooperatives. As soon as the eggs are available in all cooperatives, we will also publish them on Migipedia. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why are the organic eggs in this size not actually available in a 4-pack?
Hoi hahannah Thank you for your interest! We already offer packs of four in the same stores as the packs of six. The only difference is the weight: the smaller pack contains eggs weighing 63g+ and the larger pack contains eggs weighing 53g+. Best regards from your M-Infoline team

I would like to know what the chickens get to eat. Organic, that's clear; but organic what? Do they eat organic soy, organic maize, organic linen, organic wheat, ... There are so many different grains and not all of them have the same effects on the human body. They recently reported on French television that animal products from animals that are only fed corn and soy upset the omega-6-omega-3 balance.
Dear guest
Thank you for your comment.
The hens are mostly fed with organic corn and organic wheat.
Have a nice evening and best regards from the M-Infoline team

And with soy too!
Hello ivan92, organic soy cake, organic maize and organic grain (e.g. wheat, barley etc.) and organic sunflower cake make up the largest proportion of the feed. The feed mix or the weighting of the individual components varies from farmer to farmer and also depends on the age of the chickens. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
