Hello, are your canola oil and the "Holl" version made with hexane?
Hello LPP, and thank you for your question. We are pleased to confirm that M-Classic Swiss rapeseed oil is produced exclusively by mechanical pressing and that no solvent extraction is used. The oil is therefore produced without the use of solvents such as n-hexane. We hope this answers your question. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Thank you so much for this clear and precise answer!

Hello
What are the differences between this canola oil and the one in the red bottle (in terms of their smoke points/temperatures)?
Is this one really suitable for searing (e.g., pan-frying meat), or is the red bottle much better for that, but not as good for sauces…?
Thanks in advance for a clear answer! :)
Hello Abt1, thank you for your inquiry and for your interest in our rapeseed oil. HOLL rapeseed oil is made from a specially selected variety of rapeseed. Its fatty acid composition differs from that of conventional rapeseed oil, making it better suited for high temperatures: the proportion of polyunsaturated linolenic acid is reduced, while the oleic acid content is higher. The oil is thus more heat-stable and can be used for frying without hydrogenation. It is therefore perfectly suited for roasting and frying, and when heated, its taste and smell are significantly more neutral than those of conventional rapeseed oil. Thanks to its refining process, M-Classic Swiss rapeseed oil is suitable for both cold and hot cooking and can be used for quick pan-frying, roasting, and baking. Both oils are suitable for temperatures between 100 and 180 °C. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Thank you! For your quick, friendly, clear, and thorough response. And to everyone on your team, who are always as responsive as they are knowledgeable.
Your information not only satisfies our interest in your products but also helps us make better choices 👍🏻

Is the oil cold-pressed?
Hello Aleina, thank you for your inquiry. M-Classic Swiss rapeseed oil is not cold-pressed. It is a fully refined oil. Refining makes the product suitable for hot and cold cooking. Unlike cold-pressed oil, it can be used for frying, roasting and baking. We hope this information is helpful for you. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

It is well known that chemicals are used in the refining of rapeseed oil. Are these removed again with M-Classic rapeseed oil or is there a risk of residual residues such as mineral oil?
Hello Lkay, thank you for your inquiry, which we have discussed with the specialist department. They told us: "Two issues are being mixed up here - we are happy to provide clarification: 1. bleaching earth (natural clay) and vegetable activated carbon are used for refining. Just like citric acid for neutralization. 2. mineral oils are not used as lubricants in the food industry." We hope this helps you and wish you a good day. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I wanted to ask which Swiss oil plant the rapeseed oil comes from and whether the other rapeseed oils in the range were also purchased from there. Kind regards
Dear migroschind12345, thank you for your question. We have various suppliers and also many regional articles, which come from different suppliers. However, we are not allowed to give you exact supplier details. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

The spout is really not good. There's always a drop running down the bottle. Take a look at the cap on the Coop oils, it works perfectly (I say as a Migros child...)
Hello mey81, thank you for your question. We have been using this closure for several years and have not received any similar feedback to date. The retained samples have also not shown any deviations. However, we have informed the supplier accordingly and will certainly keep an eye on this issue. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
It’s still true that the pour spout leaves something to be desired… the oil runs down the bottle (we have to keep wiping it off); as evidenced by comments from various customers who have taken the time to point this out.

Hello, is this oil suitable for oiling and baking cast iron grills? After all, the oil is burnt in at temperatures well above 200°C. Or would I have to buy a HOLL rapeseed oil? You hear about toxins that are produced when oils are used too hot (acrolein, acrylamide). Maybe I am confusing something. So please let me know if you know anything about this or can recommend something. thanks + LG Alex
Hello Flint4, thank you for your question. Your fears are correct and acrylamide can be formed with normal rapeseed oil. You should therefore use M-Classic HOLL rapeseed oil for this case. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, I would be interested to know which insecticides are used in cultivation and whether their use does not harm any beneficial insects. Thank you for your answer. lg Ivan92
Hello ivan92 Thank you for your interest. It is not possible to provide exact details of the pesticides used by individual producers during cultivation. We ask for your understanding. What can be shown, however, is which products and thus which active ingredients are approved or recommended for professional application in Switzerland in general, and in the Suisse Garantie regulations in particular. The federal government lists all products that are approved for use in oilseed rape crops at the following link. Click on the product to see the active ingredient:http://www.blw.admin.ch/psm/kulturen/index.html?lang=de&item=10008 Wehope this has been helpful and wish you a good week. Your M-Infoline Team

It's a shame that Migros is still killing masses of bees, even though many people believe that Migros is committed to bees!

I find the cap on this bottle unusable. From the second use, a drop runs down the bottle. That makes a mess in the rack. The spout on the olive oil (Monini) is much better. Can you improve this?
The first to complain about the closure of the bottle, although this bottle has been sold tens of thousands of times.
The container is used for M-Budget vegetable oil, M-Classic safflower oil, peanut oil, Holl rapeseed oil, olive oil, vegetable oil, sunflower oil and rapeseed oil and the bottle has never been the subject of a complaint on Migipedia.
If there is a lid from a bouillon or aroma can between the tray and the bottle, the rack remains clean.
Dear tobiaswelti
Thank you very much for your valuable feedback.
We are happy to take this point on board and will review and consider it in any product revisions.
Best regards from the M-Infoline team

@Istanbul: Monini also works without an extra base, which is why it bothers me with the rapeseed oil bottle. Even with a lid underneath, the bottle makes oil rings on the kitchen combination...
