Hello Midors, thank you for your inquiry. It is correct that M-Classic is based on the Optigal program. Meat from the M-Classic line is produced in accordance with Swiss animal welfare regulations. The Optigal program goes beyond the Swiss animal welfare regulations, as can be seen from the reference to "particularly animal-friendly stables" under "Production methods", for example. We hope this information is helpful to you. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello Midors, thank you for your feedback. The products are not identical. Optigal, for example, is characterized by raised seating areas and the duration of the run in the conservatory. The differences in animal husbandry have an influence on the price. In terms of quality, however, the Optigal variants are similar to those of M-Classic. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Just because it's not your perspective doesn't mean "migros hardly cares about its customers".
There are people for whom the price is more important than whether it's Swiss chicken...

Lately I've been desperately looking for PouletBRUST in Migros and instead I only ever find PouletSCHNITZEL which looks like breast on the packaging. Is pulet schnitzel a boned thigh or is chicken breast called something else recently?
Hello baurelia, thank you for your inquiry. Chicken cutlets are separated from the chicken breast. Strictly speaking, the chicken breast consists of chicken cutlets and mini fillets. As we sell the two parts separately in Migros, we have named them accordingly. In other words, if you are looking for chicken breast, it corresponds to chicken escalopes and chicken mini fillets in Migros. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Oh well. Thank you very much for your feedback. To my ears, the word "schnitzel" sounds qualitatively inferior to chicken breast, which has established itself to a certain extent. I had therefore never bought it.

Hello, can you explain the difference between M Classic Swiss chicken cutlets at 25.-/kg and Optigal cutlets at 33.-/kg, knowing that in the production method description on the website, both are described as "Optigal"¨? Thank you in advance for your reply.
Hello Coraminli, thank you very much for your message. M-Classic chicken cutlets come from Switzerland and are produced in accordance with Swiss animal protection regulations. The Optigal program exceeds Swiss animal protection regulations. Optigal works in close partnership with around 600 farms, supporting Swiss farmers. The chickens are reared in a particularly animal-friendly way, and are kept in winter gardens (SST). The chickens come from Switzerland, if possible from the region of the cooperative concerned. The chickens are raised on carefully selected farms. The Optigal program features natural light, fresh air, pleasant temperatures, perches and freedom of movement. The chicks are born and raised in Switzerland. The soy content of the feed comes from Northern Italy. Optigal chicken farming is the most climate-friendly according to a study by Agoscope. The Optigal program is also audited by an independent verification body. As a result, M-Classic and Optigal chickens are not exactly the same, hence the price difference. Why can M offer chicken schnitzel in the special offer for CHF 15/kg when in the previous weeks chicken schnitzel was also sold at CHF 25/kg? Why is this possible? I can no longer understand these special offer prices!!! Kind regards
Some are abroad, others are CH?
Promotion at Fr. 15.00/kg is marked on the packaging with CH!!!!
Hello Fritz_vo_Burgdorf, CHF 25 is the normal price per kilogram for M-Classic chicken schnitzel. We sometimes offer Optigal chicken schnitzel for CHF 28 / kilogram instead of CHF 33 / kilogram. Maybe you mean these? We are not aware of any promotion at CHF 25 / kilogram. Best regards, your M-Infoline Team
Regarding the pricing of chicken schnitzel, you have not understood my question! Why can M offer CH chicken schnitzel for Fr. 33/kg for Fr. 28/kg and then CH chicken schnitzel for Fr. 15/kg? Why this exorbitant price difference? I know what the CH chicken producers get for their chicken. As a CH chicken producer, I would be furious if the M could generate such margins!
Hello Fritz_vo_Burgdorf, we have consulted our specialist department again. We assume you are comparing the prices of the Optigal brand (stands for animal welfare and meat quality above the legal guidelines) and M-Budget (stands for chicken meat produced according to legal guidelines). Adhering to the stricter guidelines is significantly more cost-intensive in the rearing of the meat, which in turn has an impact on the final price. We assure you that our chicken producers always receive the same price - whether you buy your chicken in action or not. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
