Since the new lid - hinged on both sides - no longer so popular, impractical, the lid breaks with prolonged use!!!

I like the pepper, but who invents a dosing lid like this?
At least you can mask off one half, but more than once I have come close to disaster. The last time before I taped it off, however, at least ten times as much ended up in the sauce, which was very annoying (and could only be corrected to a limited extent)!
