I have been eating these sardines for several years, but now have to report that the quality of the olive oil has deteriorated considerably over the last 4 or 5 tins. The oil has a yellowish color and a less pleasant taste. Now I have to throw away the oil that I used to eat.
Migros should perhaps investigate whether the manufacturer (in Portugal) has changed to a cheaper oil.
PS: Didn't the sardines used to be from Morocco?
Hello Spalenberg
Thank you for your thoughtful comment.
We used to source our sardines from Morocco, that's true. By switching to MSC, we had to change the fishing area so that we could guarantee a more sustainable catch. That is why we have now changed the production company, which catches more sustainable sardines at a different location (mid-East Atlantic).
We will take your feedback on the oil it contains on board and inform our supplier.

I opened a tin of these sardines in January.
However, the contents were in tomato sauce and not in olives
in olives as it says on the packet.
Completely wrong delicacy or wrong packaging.
Not at all enjoyable to eat. I had to throw the rest away.

Hello seppmaechler
Thank you for contacting us again by e-mail. We are now happy to provide you with a response.
When the sardines were filled in olive oil, the packaging for sardines in tomato sauce was incorrectly used. We have pointed this out to our supplier. It was a small quantity that was sold. We apologize to you for this incident.
We ask for your understanding and hope to be able to continue to welcome you in your Migros.
Kind regards from the M-Infoline team
