Migros has various sea salts for preparing food in its range. Have these been tested for microplastics?
Hello Astrid2424, thank you for your inquiry. The analysis of microplastics in water is a major challenge. This challenge is even greater with food (i.e. a much more complex matrix), which is why only very few laboratories offer such tests at all. In addition, there is no generally recognized method for the analysis of microplastics in food and therefore no limit value. For these reasons, we are unable to test our sea salts for microplastics. Where does the M Classic sea salt come from and how is it extracted? I imagine salt lakes like in Ibiza?
Hello gypsi, thank you for your question. The sea salt comes from the Netherlands Antilles. Our supplier diverts the sea water into basins and dries it to extract the salt. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear Migipedia team
On my sea salt kilo pack it says under ingredients: "Sea salt, purified, coarse-grained".
What does "purified" mean? What exactly is the purification process; are any chemicals used?
Thank you for your answer, Andreas Bachmann, Magglingen
Hi guest
Thank you for your inquiry.
The sea salt is washed after harvesting with a purified brine and purified water. No chemicals are used in the process.
We hope this information helps you. Otherwise we are here for you!

Dear Migipedia team - M-Classic sea salt 350g(https://www.migipedia.ch/de/lebensmittel/gewuerze-und-kraeuter/wuerzen/gewuerze/m-classic-meersalz/350g#tabInfos) contains the anti-caking agent E 535. However, the M-Classic sea salt kilo packaging does not declare the release agent E 535. Can I assume that it is not included?
Thank you for your advice. Kind regards, simon clementi, Zurich
Hello simcle
Thank you for taking the time to write to us.
The additive E535 sodium ferrocynanide is not included in the 1 kilo pack. As the salt in the pack is much coarser, fewer lumps form than with the fine salt in the 350g salt shaker.
We hope this has been helpful and wish you a nice sunny day.

Great product, but unfortunately the grains are a little too small for the salt mill
Dear guest
As there are different types of salt mills, it is difficult to sell a product that fits all mills.
We recommend that you buy the already ground sea salt.
