Dear Migros, I have been using this product for years and have always been very satisfied because the grains were really coarse. For some time now, the grain size has been much smaller. Have you changed suppliers and if so, is this hopefully only a temporary drop in quality?
Hello vrocca, thank you for your message about coarse cane sugar. To enable us to make further enquiries, please let us know the expiration date and the lot number next to it. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Thank you for the clarifications. Here is the required information: Best before: 12.2024 Lot: L21139 Best regards Valérie
Hello Valérie, thank you very much for your feedback. The grain size is indeed not always exactly the same. The color is also sometimes a little lighter, sometimes a little darker. Raw sugar is a natural product that exhibits certain natural fluctuations. We obtain 90 % of the mass, which is described as coarse-grained, and the other 10 % is somewhat finer. This is typical of the product and cannot be solved in any other way. It is therefore quite possible that your pack contains slightly more fine grains than coarse grains. However, this does not mean that the quality is inferior. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear Migipedia team
Unfortunately, the paper packaging makes this sugar "rock hard" as the moisture penetrates inside. Couldn't you switch to plastic packaging?
Hello ingrid.naegele
Thank you for your valuable feedback. We would like to clarify this case in more detail. Can you please let us know the M-date (to be sold by, to be used by) and the lot number (number starting with letters or mixed) of your sugar?
Thank you in advance for your feedback and we wish you an enjoyable rest of the week. Your M-Infoline team

Dear Sir or Madam,
I have been using this sugar for many years, but rarely have access to Migros stores. What do I have to do to get a quantity of e.g. 20 kilos delivered to Germany?
Hello AlfredStahl
Thank you for taking the time to write to us - we appreciate your interest.
Migros sells its products exclusively in its stores in Switzerland and in France.
In Germany, we have an online store on the website www.migros.de. Orders for food products are processed within Germany. Shipping is carried out by DHL.
We hope this has helped you and wish you a nice, sunny summer.
Best regards from the M-Infoline team

Hello Peter.
I would like to know where this sugar is produced and I am particularly interested in the production process. In other words, the agricultural cultivation and further treatment to produce the end product.
I read here that a few years ago a high acrylamide content was found in some whole cane sugars and foods made from them. Hence my questions.

Hello guest
Thank you for your comment.
This production process is not used in the production of coarse raw sugar. Coarse raw sugar comes from the cultivation of sugar cane plants, which are usually cut by machine and then processed into sugar in large sugar factories. the sugar cane plant is a perennial plant that can be used for between 4 and 7 years.
After cutting, the cut canes are transported to the sugar factory, where the juice is pressed out of the sugar cane in large mills. The juice is purified by filtration and the settling process.
A sugar syrup is obtained in a vacuum process, which is then crystallized. Depending on the type of crystallization, darker or lighter varieties of cane sugar are then produced.
The sugar for the coarse raw sugar comes from Mauritius and Colombia.
We hope this answers your questions and wish you a pleasant afternoon.
Best regards

Sugar used to be much darker and more flavorful. It's a shame it's so light in color.
Hello häsli
Thank you for your feedback.
No changes have been made to the product. However, raw cane sugar is subject to natural color variation and the color can range from light beige to dark brown according to the specification. Accordingly, the smell can also be somewhat more intense or weaker.
We hope this has been helpful and wish you a pleasant autumn day. Your M-Infoline Team
