Hello, is alcohol used as a carrier in the production and does it contain animal ingredients (except milk, eggs)?
Hello Seak90, thank you for your question. With the exception of milk, the product does not contain any ingredients or additives of animal origin and, as per your request, it is also alcohol-free. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I often like to add jam to my cottage cheese - how about a sweet version, dear Migros?

Hello White_Angel, thank you for your suggestion. We have gladly passed this on to the specialist department. They will check your request. However, we cannot promise you that it will be implemented. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello Today, as I often do, I bought 2 tubs of cottage cheese and immediately scanned them with the hand scanner. A little later I see a double pack on a separate table as a promotion, the same product, just additionally packed in a carton. My previously purchased 2 single packs were charged at the normal price according to the hand scanner, the discount is only available in the promotional pack with the additional box around it. My questions: 1. why are promotions always packaged separately as multipacks in plastic or cardboard? These are then usually on a different rack and if you take the same number of items from the "normal" rack, you don't get the promotional price. Instead, you get a free plastic film or cardboard box to dispose of at home. You keep reading in the Migros magazine about packaging savings here and there, but why the promotions still have to be wrapped in plastic is incomprehensible. Is there a comprehensible answer to this, i.e. not "for logistical reasons, blah blah blah"? Would Migros make a big loss if in future all promotions were simply valid from 1 piece and regardless of which rack they were taken from? 2. The topic of food waste is also always popular in Migros Magazine. There are more and more single-person households, which should not live in overly large apartments if possible, i.e. get by with less space. So why are there always promotions where you have to buy 4 or 6 of an item in order to benefit from it? 3. energy saving is a hot topic at the moment, so shopping on foot or by bike. Very practical and convenient if you have to buy 4 kilos of sugar at a time and the promotion doesn't apply otherwise. But I have another "insider tip" for anyone who also wants to avoid the additional packaging during the promotions, but it only works if you scan the items straight away with the hand scanner and it really is the same product 1 to 1, e.g. cottage cheese today, but it also works for pelati, tinned food, butter 4 pieces in a carton etc.: Scan the shrink-wrapped promotional goods with the hand scanner, then put them back and take the corresponding number of the product from the rack where the goods are lying individually. This way you have benefited from the promotional price, but don't have to open and dispose of plastic waste at home. I hope there is an environmentally and customer-friendly answer to my questions. Thank you very much.

Hello galleria, thank you for your contribution. As promotions are only available in stores for a short time, they must be clearly labeled. For logistical reasons, outer packaging is usually necessary. However, Migros also offers promotions for many products without additional packaging material. Wherever possible, Migros tries to avoid over-packaging or double packaging, because additional packaging also means additional costs for us. It is also very important to us that all customers can benefit from our promotions. Migros therefore offers various forms of promotion to meet as many needs as possible. Small or individual households appreciate promotions on individual products, while large households value the purchase of special or multiple packs. So that we can offer our customers variety and, above all, give them a choice, there are promotions that apply from a certain quantity. They can decide for themselves within a product range whether they want to buy the same item twice or different ones. The promotions on large packs are usually for foods that can be stored for longer or frozen well. They are therefore also suitable for small households in some cases. In addition, any leftovers from a meal can often be easily processed. It cannot be denied that one- and two-person households, particularly in urban areas, represent a growing proportion of the Swiss population. We try to take this trend into account as far as possible by offering smaller portions of numerous items, such as canned goods (beans, peas, pineapple slices, rösti, etc.), cheese and meat and sausage products (various individual portions). Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello M-Infoline team, thank you for the detailed answer. Everything seems to be well thought out and logical. But to stay with my example of cottage cheese, I would be grateful if you could use this product to explain why 2 packs always have to be put in a box for this promotion and why it is not possible for customers to take 2 packs from the rack at the usual location at the promotional price without an additional box. This is also possible with other promotions. Someone in the Migros Group must have decided that this is not possible and that additional packaging is urgently needed for the benefit of customers. Unless the reason is a trade secret of the marketing department, it would be interesting to find out what leads to such decisions so that customers can understand and accept them. Many thanks for your efforts and best regards

Hello galleria, thank you very much for your feedback. We are happy to address this point as well. As you have already experienced, promotions are characterized by their short-term nature. To make them recognizable as such, we chose the outer packaging. The advantage is that such products are easier to transport, both for us and for our customers. We need to find out whether your suggestion regarding individual packaging would be popular. We would be happy to discuss your idea as part of the next product range. We hope our efforts are in your interest. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, thank you for your reply. So for me, the single packs without additional cardboard or plastic packaging are more popular, but it may be that I am an exotic individual case. I've also come to terms with it because, as I mentioned in my question, I just scan the price of the promotional pack with the hand scanner, put it back and take the corresponding number of individual packs without outer packaging from the "normal" rack. It works wonderfully and I save a few kilos of cardboard and plastic waste a year. And so far everything has been easy to transport, even the 2 individual tubs of cottage cheese arrived perfectly at my home. Kind regards

What are guar gum and xanthan gum doing in a dairy product? So you are forced to buy organic Cottage Cheese, which does not contain these unhealthy substances (guar gum and xanthan gum).
Hello Sarahmina, both guar gum and xanthan gum are thickening agents that are used to increase the viscosity of the topping. When using additives, Migros always follows the principle of "as much as necessary, as little as possible". Both additives are harmless to health in the quantities used. Additives are among the best-studied substances in our food and are only approved once strict scientific tests have proven their harmlessness.
Legally, Migros is governed by the requirements of the Swiss Confederation. The Additives Ordinance regulates the permissibility of the various substances and lists areas of application and maximum quantities. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Is it possible without xanthan gum?
Hello Salo22, thank you for your question. The product currently contains xanthan gum (E415) to ensure an optimal texture. We were happy to pass on your request to omit this additive to our specialist department. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Could the format of the new 500g cup be adapted to the format of the old 450g cup (higher, but less wide)? I found it easier to handle.

Hello Migi78, thank you very much for your input. We will be happy to forward this to our manufacturer for review. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

And why has the 450g cup been removed from the range? Is it again about having to buy the SAME amount for MORE money? For me, this scam just makes me puke....
Hello monimf85, thank you for your message. We will be happy to explain the reason: we have reduced the 750 g cup to 500 g. As part of this measure, we have decided to remove the 450 g quantity from the range. Having two identical products in our range that only differ by 50 g makes little sense due to the limited space available on our shelves. We hope these explanations make sense to you. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

The cottage cheese no longer has any sugar in it, which I think is very good. Unfortunately, it is very runny and I see that water is already listed in 4th place. Can't this water be removed or reduced? Then it would have a better consistency. Because I want to buy cottage cheese and not water.....
After sugar you don't like the water content, I think a cottage cheese that you like has yet to be invented. Tip to Migros-Use even more thickener.

Oh, a nice sound! No, there is.............

Hello indios, thank you for your inquiry. We understand your wish to reduce the amount of water in cottage cheese. However, water is part of the product's tried and tested recipe. Without it, Cottage Cheese would not remain soft and tasty. Cottage cheese is a cheese that can vary depending on the milk used and the time of year. It is also a delicate product that does not tolerate vigorous and continuous mixing. We therefore recommend that you mix the cottage cheese carefully before eating it. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I realize that it needs water. But you could please reduce this. It's too runny. And yes, of course I mix it before eating.

Tesco UK and Albert Heijn have a fat-free Cottage Cheese. I think it's great that there is a sugar-free version, but a fat-free version is also desirable for bodybuilders...

Migros used to have one. It was great!

Hello Coacoa200, thank you very much for your suggestion regarding fat-free cottage cheese. We have of course informed the relevant specialist department about your request so that they can consider launching it if necessary. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why so expensive? At Aldi and Lidl 100 g Fr. -.50
4 years ago
If it's too expensive for you, just buy it at Aldi or Lidl. The MMM stores are more expensive with meat/sausage/cheese on sale (and I think the butchers at Migros get a super wage) so when I go to the new MMM Herblingen, the "shopping experience" is greater than at Aldi and Lidl, but you have to decide and yes I have also bought at Aldi. They also have great products you like.

Hi indios, there are different processes for making cottage cheese, which also require different materials. With Cottage Cheese from M-Budget, for example, we offer the same price per 100g as the discounters. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

But the budget cottage cheese has sugar in it! And I don't want that! Because all other suppliers also leave it out. Even abroad!
Hello indios, we are happy to take note of your criticism. The fact is that our M-Budget Cottage Cheese contains a very small amount of sugar. This has been the case since these products were developed. The sugar serves to round off the taste and softens the sour taste somewhat. As an alternative without sugar, you can choose Cottage Cheese Organic, for example. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Sugar is unnecessary. The cottage cheese pictured also had sugar in it for decades. Now suddenly it doesn't anymore. It's funny that all the other stores offer HK without sugar
4 years ago
Milk is also unnecessary, why not offer a cottage cheese that consists only of water?

Hello indios, here is some good news on the subject of sugar in Cottage Cheese: the added sugar will be removed from all M-Budget and M-Classic Cottage Cheeses in the course of the year! Best regards, your M-Infoline team
