10 questions

Good day
Can the chestnuts also be eaten cold? Without cooking? Defrost and snack?
Thank you and regards
S. Saladin

Hello Chatzemutti, the chestnuts are not ready to eat and must be heated before consumption. Preparation instructions can be found on the packaging.

Best regards, your M-Infoline team

How long do you have to cook the chestnuts in the steamer? I can't find any information on peeled chestnuts. thanks

Hello Nima, thank you very much for your inquiry. As steamers differ from one another, we cannot make a general statement about cooking times. In addition, some people prefer their chestnuts firm to the bite, others prefer them soft. We recommend that you simply try it out and taste the chestnuts after 5 minutes in the steamer. If necessary, you can then cook the chestnuts for a few minutes longer. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Thank you

What happened to the roasted M-Classic chestnuts? Have they been taken out of the range?

Hello Dane1788, thank you for your inquiry. The chestnuts you are missing are part of our seasonal range. We stock them from the fall to the beginning of February. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Is 17g of fiber really true? That seems extremely high to me and is more than twice as much as the roasted M-Classic chestnuts.

Hello Windar, you are absolutely right in your assumption that the fiber content on the M-Classic Marroni packaging is indeed far too high! The content will be checked and then adjusted accordingly. Thank you very much for your tip, it's nice to have such attentive customers like you. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

How long does such a check take? There may be people who have high cholesterol, have been told by their doctor to eat more fiber and rely on these 17g.

Hello Windar, a further enquiry with the manufacturer has revealed that the packaging is unfortunately still being updated as this is a seasonal product. The actual fiber content is in the range of 1-2g per 100g. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Packaging bloated ### Dear M-Infoline team I took my chestnuts(1) out of the freezer today. Why is the packaging bloated? I know that I have never had a power cut and that the product has been cooled correctly. Does this have anything to do with modified atmosphere(2)? But then there should be a note on the packaging saying "packed under modified atmosphere" (or similar) - or not? Thanks for any feedback on this. 1 | bit°ly | 3uP5bbR 2 | de°wikipedia°org | wiki | modified atmosphere%C3%A4re

Hello graffeli, we would be happy to look into this in more detail. Can you please let us know the best-before date and the lot number? Best regards, your M-Infoline team

@M-Infoline - grüezi, all these details (and more) are visible under link 1. LG

@graffeli Then enter the short link correctly and not garbled so that it can be opened 🤷🏻‍♀️ http://bit.ly/3uP5bbR Best regardsFrederica

Hello graffeli, thank you for your feedback on the peeled M-Classic chestnuts. We are sorry that your pack is bloated. The chestnuts are not packaged in a modified atmosphere. We assume that the bloated pack was caused by a break in the cold chain. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to determine when and where this occurred. However, we have informed all parties involved accordingly. Kind regards, your M-Infoline team

Follow-up question to my question as to why the country of origin is not on the packaging: there is NO INFORMATION about the country of origin on the packaging!

Let's wait for the answer from M-Infoline. Here, under "Other data" and at LeShop it says: Origin: EUROPA. I don't have any packaging as I buy other chestnuts: https://produkte.migros.ch/m-classic-marroni-gekocht

The country of origin is not on the packaging - why not?

Good morning Ribisel The FDHA Ordinance on the Labeling and Advertising of Foodstuffs, Chapter 2, Section 7, Art. 15, states:If a foodstuff cannot be assigned to a specific country of production or if the country from which the raw materials or ingredients originate cannot be clearly determined, the smallest geographical area from which the foodstuff, the raw materials or the ingredients originate must be indicated (e.g. "lettuce from the European Union", "fish from the Baltic Sea").Best regards Frederica

Hello Ribisel, thank you for your tip. The current marrons come from Spain. For ecological reasons, we would like to refrain from destroying the existing packaging material. As soon as this is used up, we will have the packaging reworked. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Are the chestnuts cooked enough so that you can put them frozen in the blender and use them for a smoothie bowl?

Hello _Migroskind_, thank you for your request. These chestnuts are not cooked. They only go through a short heating step during peeling, which takes less than 1 minute and does not cook the product. For smoothies, for example, you could use a product that has already been cooked (it is not a frozen product): M-Classic Marroni cooked (https://migipedia.migros.ch/en/152925000000) Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear M-Infoline team - Has the supplier or the type of chestnuts been changed recently? Unfortunately, the chestnuts no longer taste like they used to.... What a pity!!!

Dear Bea78, thank you very much for your question. We are sorry that the chestnuts did not taste good. As this is a natural product, it is possible that there are variations in taste. We are happy to confirm that we have not changed the variety or our supplier. For further clarification, we need the best-before date (BBD) and the lot number. This number is usually next to the best-before date and begins with an L or is a mixture of numbers and letters. Many thanks and best regards, your M-Infoline team

Were chestnuts roasted before peeling? Or heated in any other way?

Hello angel200
Thank you for getting in touch.
The chestnuts are boiled after peeling so that they retain their pleasant consistency. After cooking, the chestnuts are frozen immediately.
We wish you a sunny week.
Best wishes from the M-Infoline team
