When will the wild blueberries be available again?
And why were they not informed about the inferior quality/product change, e.g. via product labels?
I wanted to return the 5 out of 6 packs I bought because I felt incredibly deceived and can't do anything with the "normal" blueberries. At least not in this quantity.
I was turned away in a very unfriendly manner at the customer service desk. I am well aware that you are generally not allowed to return food. Nevertheless, I would have liked some goodwill in this case. Which I would certainly have received at the Coop or another retailer.
Hello Vayalee, thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We understand your frustration with the product change and the disappointment it has caused. We are sorry that the customer service did not meet your expectations. This does not meet our standards of customer friendliness. The change from wild to cultivated blueberries allows us to offer the product at a lower price. Nevertheless, we still offer wild blueberries. You can find the "Alnatura Organic Wild Blueberries unsweetened" in our stores. We hope that you like this alternative.
We regret that we did not inform you sufficiently about the change. Your feedback is valuable and helps us to avoid such communication gaps. Unfortunately, for legal reasons, we cannot take back food as we can no longer guarantee the safety of the products. This is regulated by law in Switzerland and affects all retailers. We understand that this is annoying and ask for your understanding.
We hope that you will give us another chance despite this experience and wish you a pleasant day. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Well, these wild blueberries were not available in several stores for almost 4 weeks due to an interruption in supply. Now they are back, but no longer "wild", but cultivated blueberries! Why? I really want the wild ones, they are more aromatic and healthier than conventional ones.
Hello Delirious, thank you for your post. Due to the scarce availability of wild blueberries, we have changed the variety of blueberries. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear team, I have seen that the berries are coming from Canada again. Why are they no longer 'wild' blueberries? And if they are, are they low bush or high bush berries? And what genus are they exactly? Vaccinium myrtillus or augustifolium? Thanks for your feedback! Kind regards MigiJane
Hello MigiJane, thank you for your inquiry. There are many types of blueberries (around 500 different ones). We recently switched from a European to a North American blueberry for reasons of availability. We now offer the species Vaccinium Augustifolium (also called lowbush blueberry). In contrast to the previous European blueberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), this comes from Canada. It has slightly different characteristics: it has whitish flesh, the berries are larger and have a different, rather sweet taste. However, both species are wild blueberries. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear Migros Team Do these blueberries belong to the genus "vaccinium augustifolium"?
Hello swd, thank you for your inquiry. These wild blueberries are the Vaccinium Myrtillus variety. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Where do the berries come from, the forest?
Hello Xund, the berries grow mainly in large quantities in the Carpathian Mountains (mountain range between the Czech Republic and Romania) and the Baltic states. There they are picked by hand, delivered to collection points, sorted and frozen. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

-o-
Are they sugared?
Good morning BlueHusky According to the calories 100g/61kcal, the fruits are sweetened. Natural ones would have approx. 100g/39kcal and would be offered with the note unsweetened . Best regardsFrederica
Hello BlueHusky, thank you for your inquiry. All our fruit is unsweetened. Sugar should be listed as an ingredient on the ingredients list if it is present. We are constantly removing the reference to "unsweetened" because it could suggest that other frozen fruits are sweetened. The different calorie content as mentioned by you on Migipedia comes from different ripe fruits/varieties, time of harvest etc., as these are natural products, the nutritional values can vary.
