Dear Migros, as Migros are very critical of the newer version, will Migros reconsider the recipe? You have an influence on the product here

Hello Dragonball, thank you for your inquiry. Due to the many customer feedbacks after our last recipe adjustment, we decided to revise the bear paws again.

We particularly addressed the issue of the texture being too dry and were able to improve this by optimizing the recipe. We also managed to remove the palm oil from the ingredients. We regret that we have not been able to win you over with our bear paws since then ☹.

We have of course forwarded your feedback to our specialist department. Those responsible are keeping an eye on this issue. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

These are the cookies I've always loved, and still do today with my coffee.
Unfortunately I won't be buying them again! The new recipe is a complete failure. Even my 9-year-old son won't eat them anymore.
I don't like the soft texture or the taste. There's so much sugar and you can't taste the chocolate! It's really annoying this mania for trying to change things!

Hello Adriana12, thank you very much for your message. In order to consider your request, we need to know the date of minimum durability and the batch number printed next to it on the packaging. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

When was the last recipe adjustment? Of course, bear paws, like everything else, are a matter of taste.

However, I would be lying if I said that I wasn't massively disappointed by the new recipe. I've never really noticed any changes to this delicacy in recent years and it has been one of my personal Migros highlights since my childhood. I always opened a large portion of joy with every pack:-) Now, unfortunately, I no longer like the taste:-( A piece of childhood memory and a small personal cultural asset has been lost for me... But of course I know how to deal with it and wish everyone who likes the new recipe en Guete, I won't be buying the Bärentatzen any more.

Hello tomithebacon, the last recipe adjustment was made in 2021 - we adjusted the sugar content slightly there. Your feedback has been submitted to our specialist department. Thank you for your frank words. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why has the recipe been changed?

We opened a pack yesterday, promotion, XXL, and were immediately negatively surprised.
As already mentioned in the comments, poor consistency, less chocolatey, more/differently processed hazelnuts, spice mix not right and hardly any glaze.

Why has the recipe been tacitly changed and not mentioned anywhere?

Hello Nezumi, thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry that you no longer like these delicious biscuits, especially as you have been delighted with them so far.

What's going on?!, Hello Migros.... the bear paws, were once absolutely one of the best Guezli.what I'm eating here right now is the bottom drawer, much too dry, taste 0 stars and where the hell is the icing ?!!! Not worth the money!!! I'm thinking of bringing them back!

Hello Shane-art, we are very sorry that our bear paws have given you cause for complaint. So that we can trace the production, we would ask you to provide us with the best-before date and the lot number (begins with L and consists of letters and numbers). For now, we wish you a nice day. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Before I answer, I have subsequently read other reviews. Looking at the reset alone is often not enough, you should eat and test it yourself! (Test purchase in different stores and then taste it!) I bought the pack fresh and opened it on the same day, just as an aside. * Suggestion: I travel to different Swiss cities in one day and buy different packs of Bärentazen, including proof of purchase. I send you a pack from any Swiss town (village). Of course by public transport, and keep one pack back for myself and then evaluate each pack in writing. Then we compare our results! Now the question is, do you really want to know or not? Lot no. In the appendix mfg S.B

Hello Shane-art, thank you for your feedback. We have looked into the issue with the relevant specialist department. No deviations are evident in our process records. The retained samples from this production were also checked and meet our specifications in terms of taste and appearance.

Continuous quality controls are carried out during production. Products that do not meet our specifications are sorted out by employees. In your case, we assume that this has not happened. We have not received any further information about this production series. The employees concerned have been informed of your report and trained again in the relevance of continuous quality control. We apologize for the loss of enjoyment. We will contact you again privately. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Bear paws We keep noticing that bear paws bought in Buchs AG or Thun BE (Genossenschaft Aare) taste different from those bought in Sissach/Gelterkinden (Genossenschaft Basel)! Why is that?

Hi Breikocherin, thanks for the question. The Bärentatzen are produced in Meilen and then distributed to all branches. So the place of purchase should have no influence on the taste. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

The bear paws contain, among other things, chicken egg white powder (from barn farming). Many other products do not use barn-raised egg products. It would be nice if this product could also use free-range egg white powder.

Hello nitchen_1991, thank you for your question. We would like to offer only products that are made exclusively with free-range eggs. Unfortunately, not all consumers are prepared to pay a higher price for the end product. However, we make sure that we can still make the best possible contribution to animal welfare. For example, barn eggs meet higher standards than eggs contained in comparable products from abroad. The laying hens live in barns with daylight, where they can move around freely. The farmers attach great importance to cleanliness and hygiene. They also place great importance on the facilities, which comply with regulations and allow the animals to behave naturally. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I agree, and Migros has also made it its mission to sell only free-range eggs, which in my opinion also includes processed products containing eggs.

I recently had a large promotional pack that tasted completely different to normal - the color and consistency were also slightly different. How did that happen? I didn't store the product incorrectly or anything like that.

Hello mic92, thank you for your inquiry. In light of your description, we understand why the product raised questions. It is true that you drew our attention to your unusual experience. We would be happy to inquire with our specialist department about the possible cause. So that we can trace the manufacturing process, we would ask you to send us the article number, the best-before date and the batch number (a combination of numbers and letters). Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello Bought a pack today. They taste completely different, not even remotely good. Freshly opened and taste as if they have been open for a week and have dried out. Something can't be right, can it?

Hello RogerWalliser, thank you for your message. Can you please provide us with the best-before date and the adjacent lot number of your packaging for further verification? Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Gladly, 28.7.2022, L 2009906356

Hello RogerWalliser, thank you for your reply. We have checked the retained samples with our specialists. We found no deviations whatsoever. We were also unable to detect any foreign flavors. We take samples at regular intervals during production. We did not notice any discrepancies in these tests either. However, storage can have a considerable influence on quality. Premature ageing occurs when the product is exposed to high temperatures, light or air. This may also be the reason for the deviations noticed in your product. In retrospect, however, it is no longer possible to determine where and when this happened. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

The recipe has been changed, which is why they taste completely different and are sometimes perceived as no longer fresh. This has also been noted and criticized several times in my environment.

Hello Sugus1979, thank you for your contribution. In 2021, we adjusted the sugar content of the bear paws slightly. However, tasting tests did not reveal any changes in consistency. We therefore checked the retained samples. However, we were unable to detect any deviations from the desired quality standard. Nevertheless, isolated, natural deviations can occur within a batch, which we try to prevent with regular checks. In general, however, our bear paws are slightly drier than those of our competitors. Could it be that the recipe was changed recently? The taste was ok, but the consistency was somehow different. (L 2008610035)

Hello mey81, thank you for your comment. We did not make any changes to the recipe for the bear paws. Sometimes it can happen that they become a little drier towards the end of the shelf life. As this is a baked product, there may also be slight fluctuations. During production, our specialists check the products at regular intervals. We do everything we can to ensure that only flawless quality is sold. We are constantly working on our processes and are therefore happy to receive any feedback, thank you very much.
