Dear Migros, I ask you to replace the flavor enhancer "monosodium glutamate" with a natural alternative. The current additive is one of the most devastating that is permitted in our time.

Hello Buddha18
Thank you for your request.
Monosodium glutamate is a flavor enhancer and cannot currently be omitted or replaced in this product.

Monosodium glutamate (the sodium salt of glutamic acid) is harmless to health; if this were not the case, it would not be allowed to be added to food as an additive. However, this additive only makes up a small fraction of the total amount consumed in our daily diet.
Glutamic acid also occurs naturally in various foods such as meat, fish, cheese, mushrooms and ripe tomatoes and is even produced by our own bodies.
We hope you can understand our reasoning and wish you a pleasant evening.
Best wishes from the M-Infoline team

Not forgetting breast milk, which contains the most glutamate.

Opening the pack just makes me sick! I find the smell of gas that first rises up absolutely appetite-killing! Once the bad smell has gone, the salami is just fine!

What is it that makes the pack smell so nauseating when you first open it? Does it really have to be like that?

What a shame, I don't like buying the product like this any more...

Hello guest
Thank you for your valuable comment.
We are sorry that you are experiencing an unpleasant odor with M-Budget salami cold cuts. The reason for this may be that the oxygen is removed during packaging and replaced by a special mixture (called Atmos). When the pack is opened, the Atmos escapes first, which may be responsible for the unpleasant odor.
We recommend that you open the pack and wait a short time. This allows the typical salami flavor to develop.
See you soon in your Migros.
Best regards from the M-Infoline team

What is the difference between M-Budget and the more expensive meat?
How is a consistent taste achieved? (Homogenized)

Hello Vittel_Castro
Thank you for your interest in our products.
The difference here lies mainly in the way the animals are kept or their origin. In the case of M-Budget meat, the animals are reared in accordance with Swiss animal welfare legislation - but they are often imported.

On the other hand, we carry the TerraSuisse label in our range, for example. With TerraSuisse, farmers undertake to comply with the strict guidelines of IP-Suisse.
The consistent taste of a product is achieved by always using the same recipe for a particular product. During production, a machine helps to add the same amount of different ingredients to each production run.
We hope this has been helpful and wish you a wonderful autumn day. your M-Infoline Team

citterio frs 53 a kg. m budget 14.50 ? where is the difference ?

Hello Benefits
Thank you for your message and your interest in our products.
Migros offers a large and wide assortment of salami. From the low-priced M-Budget salami, through the M-Classic salami to the Sélection product or Italian branded items such as the renowned Citterio salami. The choice of products is wide. In Migros' rich assortment, everyone can find their favorite product.
Currently, sliced Salame Milano Citterio, in the 100g tray, is offered at a price of fr. 4.90. The price of fr. 4.90 includes the duty of fr. 0.90, which is due for import. In Italy, the same product is offered by Carrefour at a price of fr. 3.72 (per 100g). Taking into account customs fees, the price difference between Italy and Switzerland is therefore quite modest.
Tip:
To all salami lovers, we recommend Salami Milano M-Classic. With a price of fr. 26.90 per kilo, this product offers excellent value for money.
We hope this information is useful to you and wish you a good day.

Could it be that not only the name of this product (wasn't it once called Salamino) but also the recipe has been changed? I remembered the Salamino as quite bland and the consistency of the fat as almost soapy. This time I bought it again and found it more peppery, i.e. generally better in flavor. (but this may be a "production error" that unintentionally - for my taste - made the product better).

Someone who claimed to be in the know (and is on the payroll at the competitor with 4 letters) once told me that B... deliberately omits spices in the production of cheap salami for C... . The main difference in the taste of the better (=more expensive) salamis lies above all in this, especially in the pepper - apart from the meat components (lean meat ingredient and fatty bacon/rind additions) and the storage time, the longer the salami hangs/dries, the more the meat becomes "dried meat" and therefore more aromatic, but loses weight (water) and therefore makes the product more expensive (yes, Citterio does it really well!). But then it also comes at the price of Bündnerfleisch).

By the way: Anyone who believes that the Nostrano with the "large" fat eyes contains more fat is mistaken, as the same source has convinced me that the Milano contains more fat, but that it is less visually noticeable because the fat eyes are "small" but numerous.

Hellohelvetico
Thank you very much for your question. Unfortunately, it only arrived at the M-Infoline today due to a technical problem. Clarification may take another 1 to 2 days.
We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience.

Hello helvetico
The specialist agency confirms that nothing has been changed in the recipe recently.
@Istanbul: Thank you for your research.

User Istanbul has actually already provided the answer to the question THAT an iteration has taken place. However, the salami "insiders" at Migros say that nothing has been changed "recently". That the name has been changed is a simple fact, as we eat the contents and not the name. But it could also be an indication that something has been changed after all.
Hm, I'm confused. I certainly haven't bought M-Budget salami for 6 months because I simply liked the Italian salami from Denner better, but unfortunately it's also much more expensive :-(
Of course, the taste sensation also depends on the current mood and the side dishes. At that time I ate it on Migros Zopf and it was Friday evening (finally weekend mood). We also ate Roquefort cheese with it, and a weak salami would be hopelessly lost next to the Roquefort flavor.
Another purchase is probably necessary to taste it again - I will report back. The chance that I will find the pack in the bin with the batch number is unfortunately slim, in which case the producer could re-taste with the retained production samples. If it really was a production error, then I would like the employee who made the seasoning mix incorrectly that day to be named employee of the month and for the salami company to give him preference to seasoning only or to buy the rights to his intellectual property and continue production ;-)
