I have to denounce it again now. Once again I had to throw more than half of the salad into the compost as it is no longer edible after a day. The cold chain was interrupted for exactly 15 minutes, so that can't be the reason. It's also mainly the dark endive leaves that rot quickly.

Most of our lettuces are cut into bite-sized pieces after washing so that they can be eaten immediately after opening the bag. However, this also means that the resulting cuts on certain types of lettuce are very susceptible to oxidative discoloration. This means that as soon as oxygen reaches the cut surface, it begins to turn brown. The lettuce is still in perfect condition, but no longer looks as attractive.
We prevent this effect in the bag by blowing in an atmosphere without oxygen and then sealing the bag tightly. As soon as you open the pack, oxygen reaches the cuts and they turn brown after a few hours. This cannot be completely avoided with agricultural products.
We recommend that you transfer the salad to a Tupperware container after opening and seal it tightly.

I like this salad mix best and the pack is just right for a family of 5. However, it has happened to me a few times that I buy the salad on Saturday and by Sunday the red cabbage has already started to ferment. You can no longer eat it and not even the rabbits will touch it.

The various components of the mixture "breathe" in the bag and the red cabbage develops a typical cabbage smell that is very noticeable when the pack is opened. However, this is normal and not a sign of fermentation. Once the salad is out of the packaging, the smell disappears. As the raw material is a natural product, this may be more or less noticeable. In addition, the entire cold chain, from production to the store and to your home, must be guaranteed so that the product is fresh and crisp at the end of its shelf life.
We remove a retained sample from all products, which we store until the end of the printed shelf life. During our daily checks of the raw material and end product, we have not noticed any changes in the red cabbage and M-Budget salad. As we do not know the lot number from your Migipedia entry, we cannot trace this case back to the exact day.
