Why use water as an ingredient in mayonnaise, when in principle there's no water, to save on oil?
Of course, some of the water comes from the egg yolk. The other part comes from the added liquid, which can be vinegar or lemon juice, responsible for the sauce's acidity, or other liquids sometimes added to lengthen the sauce.

Hello jeanlucc, we've taken your question on board. Mayonnaise is a sauce known as an "emulsion". An emulsion is a heterogeneous mixture of two liquids that are normally immiscible, but which eventually mix together under the effect of agitation. The two liquids used in mayonnaise are oil and water. The water is present to guarantee the stability of the emulsion (the structure and texture of the mayonnaise) and the hydration of any other ingredients such as thickeners, which are in powder form before incorporation. This water is not added to save oil. European regulations clearly define the recipe criteria that must be met to obtain the "mayonnaise" designation for a product. To call a product "mayonnaise", we must guarantee the presence of a minimum of 70% fat in the recipe. This is the case in your product, which contains 70% sunflower oil, not counting the fat provided by the egg yolk, for example. Sincerely, your M-Infoline team

I've already asked the branches in the area. Some have them, others don't, hence my question. It's not possible for me to shop in another town. My place of residence: 8590 Romanshorn.

Thanks M-Infoline, but then the store should put up a delivery interruption sign, then you wouldn't have to ask back.

Grüezi, is anything from the pig used here and was alcohol (ethanol) added in addition to natural alcohols (e.g. in vinegar)? Not even in the mustard? Thank you very much
3 years ago
Hello fatihoeztuerk, thank you for your question. We do not add alcohol in the form of ethanol or pork to the product - this also applies to the mustard. However, the vinegar does contain alcohol. This has a value of < 1.5 vol.%. It is usually even lower. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hi Schneemaa94, the mayonnaises available in Migros are not made with raw eggs. For hygienic reasons, liquid egg, a pasteurized egg mass, is used in the industrial production of foodstuffs. The mayonnaise available at Migros can therefore also be consumed by pregnant women without hesitation. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Some time ago, the shape of the lid was adapted. Mayo and mustard now have exactly the same lid and it is now much harder to tell the tubes apart, especially when you roll up the end (where there is nothing inside). Have you considered making this easier by using different colors, for example, or would this have an impact on the price? Some time ago, the lids were still different and made it easier, especially for children, to find the tube they wanted.

Hello islaender79 Thank you for contacting us. We are aware of the problem and the differentiation will be restored as soon as possible by adjusting the lid for the mayonnaise. We hope for your understanding and ask for your patience. Best regards, M-Infoline Team

It's a total shame that the lid has been changed to the "flower shape" or whatever you want to call it. As with Thomy products. The old lid was much better. It was much easier to open the tube than it is now. This was one of the reasons why I switched to this mayo back then. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Now it is only the price that is more advantageous than with other products. I would like to know why the lid has been adapted?

Hoi Steffeli Thank you for your question. We have made the adjustment due to various factors. The larger lid means that the mayonnaise is more stable and does not fall over so easily. In addition, it is now easier for older people to open. We hope we have helped you and send you our best regards. Your M-Infoline team

Very good, but with an orange cap, it's not easy to tell that it's mayonnaise, especially when the mustard cap is white... why not swap the caps for more logic???
