Hello everyone. What is different about M-Budget carrots in terms of production/rearing and the use of chemicals compared to M-Classic carrots? Greetings, Roland

Hello Roland, thank you for your question. The difference between these packs is the quantity. In addition, the M-Budget pack contains carrots that are not quite as straight or are not all the same size. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

On Saturday I bought a bag of these inexpensive carrots and yesterday (Monday) I was able to take out a few carrots and unfortunately I had to dispose of the (large) rest because the carrots were already spoiled. I am a bit disappointed and will certainly not buy these carrots a second time.

Same with me. No wonder, if they are stored in the store in a warm and humid climate. The carrots from the open shop last much longer.

Hello MyName

We are sorry that the carrots spoiled so quickly. In general, you can return the affected products in such cases and receive a refund if necessary.

We check the quality of all items before they are put on the shelves. We sort out those that do not meet our requirements. Unfortunately, it can still happen that a poor quality product ends up on sale. Certain quality defects sometimes only become apparent after some time or are barely visible.

In the case of carrots, we have had a problem with shelf life for some time now. However, this is not due to storage at the producer or the packaging. In recent years, there have been an increasing number of cases of fungal infestation (Chalara).

This fungus is not visible to the eye either during harvesting or washing and packaging, but only after some time in storage. Although this fungus is completely harmless to health, the black spots that can form naturally do not look very appetizing. This makes the carrots taste bitter.

A European working group has been in place since December 2005 to solve this problem, as it affects not only Switzerland but practically all growing regions north of the Alps. Five control points have been defined along the entire chain from the field to the shop shelf, which must be adhered to in order to prevent the fungus from spreading further.

The next step is to check the defined points and test their effectiveness. The problem has been identified and every effort is being made to eliminate it. At the moment, we can only recommend that you consume the carrots as soon as possible after purchase and store them in a cool place.

Kind regards

Your M-Infoline Team

They spoil very quickly, even in the fridge, much faster than the other non-budget carrots. So not for a week's supply. They really need to be used within 1-2 days, otherwise they become rubbery and rotten.

Dear guest
Thank you for your valuable feedback.

We regret that you are dissatisfied with the quality of our M-Budget carrots. Of course, it is important to us to always offer very good quality in our stores. We try to guarantee this by setting clear requirements for our suppliers on the one hand and by carrying out strict checks on incoming goods on the other. However, we are aware that in individual cases poor quality goods can be found in our stores, but we are constantly working to prevent this as far as possible.
We have forwarded your information to the relevant departments in Purchasing, our suppliers and Quality Assurance. In general, if you are not satisfied with a product, you can return it to the relevant store and receive a replacement.
We hope that we will be able to convince you again with our carrots in the future and wish you a nice week.
Best regards from the M-Infoline team
