Hello, how can it say "Made in Switzerland" under "Origin" and then I see on the jar that was ordered via the online store that the cucumbers come from INDIA? That's just a load of crap, I would never buy cucumbers that come from so far away. And 5 stars in the sustainability check is a joke for cucumbers from India...
Hello GustavGans, thank you for your inquiry. The yield of gherkins from Swiss agriculture is far too low to cover the entire domestic demand. For this reason, our supplier sources the raw materials from India. However, the product is manufactured in Switzerland. The information on the packaging is correct. Pickled gherkins from Switzerland have a Swiss cross on the packaging. With regard to the M-Check, transportation plays a subordinate role in carbon footprints, unless the product is flown. The decisive factors are agricultural production and, in the case of animal products, husbandry and feeding, as well as fertilization and the use of pesticides. These production methods may be the same abroad as in Switzerland, so the carbon footprint does not change significantly. The carbon footprint of the same product from abroad and Switzerland is therefore assessed in the same way. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Thank you very much for your answers. It's still a bit of a bummer for me. Why is it not clearly stated in the origin section that the cucumbers come from India? As a consumer, I want to know where the contents, i.e. the cucumber, come from and not where they are bottled. I have noticed why India. There are certainly alternatives in Europe.... Germany has very good cucumbers. Kind regards
Hello GustavGans, thank you for your feedback. Due to risk management, we have not only focused our procurement markets on Switzerland and Europe, but we also work with suppliers globally. India is a very good supplier of pickles. According to the law, the origin of a vegetable ingredient only has to be declared if it is >50% and the presentation of the product suggests that this ingredient has an origin that is not true. The origin only has to be declared if the presentation is deceptive. This would be the case, for example, if the packaging suggests that the cucumbers come from Switzerland. If this is not the case, the origin does not have to be stated. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
On the subject of sustainable vegetable cultivation in India: How can Migros assume that anything can be produced sustainably and fairly in India - a country with massive overpopulation, which suffers from serious environmental problems, overuse of resources, lower ecological standards, poverty and exploitation of human labor, as well as the climate crisis - and then for export? Really Migros?
Like the previous speakers, I have to ask myself how a product can receive 5 stars in the carbon footprint if it has been shipped halfway around the world. The label is not trustworthy if it doesn't take this into account. No more M-Budget cucumbers for us - even though they taste good!
Hello JohoH, thank you for the question. With the M-Check, the climate assessment is carried out across the entire product range. It does not compare fruit with fruit, but rather fruit with dairy products or meat products, for example. We have not had a separate CO2 balance calculated for each of our articles. This is not possible with tens of thousands of items. For certain articles, emission data is used at the level of the product range. The emissions from transportation and packaging are of little importance from an ecological point of view - the decisive factor for the calculations are the emissions that occur during the manufacture of the product. Why do these pickles have sugar in them since the packaging was changed and were previously sweetened with sucralose?
Since you've been spelling the question word wrong for years, I'll take the liberty of scribbling that it's spelled with ie . So why. Your wiso is the abbreviation for Wirtschaftund sociales.
Hello Michi2000, thank you for your inquiry. We are constantly working on making our recipes more natural and - wherever possible - reducing or completely eliminating additives. As part of these measures, we decided to replace the sweetener saccharin with sugar. However, the sugar content is low and is only 1.3 %. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
We don't want the sugar, we want the previous version with sweetener. Deterioration of a product - as usual at Migros. Too bad.........
Why do you always write about "we" Who is "we"? There are people who avoid sweeteners and prefer to have sugar in them, especially as the sugar content in this product is low. Sweeteners are not a solution either.

Why are these gherkins being taken out of the range? Shortly after the almost identical M-Classic gherkins disappeared?
I ask myself that too. I think they're mega fine.
Hello peppi15, thank you for your inquiry. We are happy to provide you with the following information: Unfortunately, there has been an interruption in delivery, which is why you will not find the products on our shelves at the moment. We expect to be able to offer them again from mid-September and ask for your patience. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Thank you very much for your reply, unfortunately I was told in our store that they were no longer in the range... I'm glad, because my husband had really had the M-Classic gherkins for years and we then switched to MBudget because the M-Classic were no longer there. Best regards Peppi15
Hello peppi15, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you received incorrect information. We will be happy to raise awareness at the relevant sales outlet. Where did you ask? Best regards, your M-Infoline team
It wasn't the usual staff, but everything was being rearranged a bit in the store (for whatever reason... ;-) ) and so there was extra staff who then asked where by phone. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding :-)
