The M-check for animal welfare is indicated on the packaging with 1 star, online with two. Why is there a difference and why is the rating so bad: what do you do with the cows that give the milk for the cheese?

The different ratings on the website (2 stars) and the packaging (1 star) are due to the fact that we are able to react quickly to any changes online. We update and refine the ratings on an ongoing basis. However, we do not revise packaging just as regularly. This is why the online ratings are always up to date, but those on the packaging are only updated when the next adjustments are made. If you are unsure about a rating, we recommend that you take a look at the website.
As far as the animal welfare rating of two stars is concerned, this is due to the origin. This cream cheese uses animal products from abroad. We have been working intensively on the implementation of Swiss animal welfare standards abroad since 2013. Although this has enabled us to achieve many important improvements on foreign farms, the transition has been difficult to varying degrees depending on the type of animal. We therefore communicated early on that we would not be able to implement our promise 100%. As a result, you will find a few products with two animal welfare stars in our range. Why is the M-Check only available for M-Buget and not for all other brands? Animal welfare is particularly important to me.

Because Migros can only use M-Check for Migros' own products, and Philadelphia makes no exception for Migros.

Hi Elena20, the M-Check can be found on all Migros own brands, not just M-Budget. Around 80% of our product range is private label. We can therefore implement a sustainability assessment such as the M-Check across all product groups. However, in the interests of comprehensive transparency, it would also be desirable for us if other manufacturers were to adopt our product assessment methodology for sustainability. I agree with ronitito: Why is it no longer available? Is there a supply shortage or has it been removed from the range? This herb cream cheese tastes fantastic, can be used many times and is unbeatably cheap!

Has the recipe for this product changed? The currently opened packs contain very runny cream cheese that is almost impossible to spread. Its consistency is more reminiscent of crème fraîche than the cream cheese we are used to... Bühler family

Hello, we are huge fans of this product, in our opinion the best cream cheese on the market. Unfortunately, it happens to us very often that the opened cream cheese shows signs of mold. We remove the aluminum cover completely at the beginning and close it again with the plastic lid. The product is stored in the fridge and even though the best-before date is still a long way off, there is mold on the top of the cheese. Can you tell me whether we are doing something wrong or whether this is normal? Thank you and best regards

So that we can investigate this problem, we would ask you to provide us with the best-before date and the lot number. You will generally find the lot number next to the best-before date.
