Price increase? Wasn't it 3.30 recently and 3.45 today? That would be a whopping +4.5%! Inflation is over; why do you keep turning the price screw?

Hello Checker23, our M-Budget butter mostly comes from the EU. Butter prices there are currently rising again. The procurement of butter as a raw material from abroad is directly linked to the development of prices in Switzerland. Swiss milk has not become cheaper in recent months. Various factors affect the price of milk and therefore the price of butter, including certain cost factors that continue to rise in Switzerland.

We understand your displeasure, but we can assure you that we will only pass on price increases to our customers if there is no other option. If we are able to purchase butter at lower prices again, we will lower the price again. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

It used to be 2.95. Now the price is already 3.50!!! And this is sold as a budget product. Cheeky

Well, it's just being adjusted to the prices of Aldi and Lidl... For example, olive oil at coop/aldi/lidl has been increased from 6.90 to 8fr... migros still has it at 6.90, it will certainly be adjusted soon...

Dear Migros... why do you need three butters next to each other that are similarly priced? Why do you write SE origin on it? Do I now have to guess where the products come from or have you saved letters for cost reasons? I find this approach very questionable and wonder whether you deliberately want to deceive the customer or are happy if he doesn't find out where the raw materials come from... and again, why three butters between 3.30 and 3.95? Then there's also organic...

Hello Kaspar_, there is a butter shortage in Switzerland due to the above-average demand for milk. The milk is primarily used for the production of drinking milk, yogurt, cream and cheese. Only the surplus milk is processed into butter - as a by-product, so to speak. As a result, the butter is imported from various countries abroad - in this case from Sweden. We abbreviate SE due to lack of space.

Migros serves a large number of different customers and needs with its product range. With the M-Budget article, for example, we can offer good quality cooking butter at a low price. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

What does SE mean on the budget butter?

Hello chooovii, thank you for your question. Where exactly did you read this information? Can you perhaps send us a photo of it? Best regards, your M-Infoline team

It's tragic that you have to send a picture because you don't know it yourself... how is the customer in the store supposed to know that????

In many countries you don't even have to write where the contents are from. In DE, for example, there is no origin of the frozen berries... SE would be Sweden? Or am I mistaken?

I noticed that on 21.04.2022 I suddenly paid CHF 3.10 per Mödeli instead of the usual CHF 2.95. It wasn't until 08.05.2022 that the price on the shelf and on the receipt was back to CHF 2.95. Why this fluctuation all of a sudden?

Hello zaiberwirfl, thank you very much for your question. We can well understand your astonishment! Due to strong fluctuations in raw material costs, fluctuations in the sales price are also possible at the moment. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello Can you tell me what the general difference is between preferred butter and cooked butter? I once read that cooked butter can be stored frozen before being sold. Is that correct? If so, can it still be frozen again? Can I also use cooking butter as a spread without hesitation, or should it be used for cooking and baking, as the name suggests? Kind regards

For cost reasons, we used to only put cooking butter on our bread and we still do. Consume it on bread without hesitation.

Hello populi, thank you for the question. Preferred butter (1st quality grade) consists of milk cream. Cooking butter (2nd quality level) contains syrup cream and milk cream. Cooking butter is made from surplus table butter that has been frozen and then reprocessed. You can freeze this butter again without hesitation or spread it on bread. Hello Can you tell me why this butter is no longer made in Switzerland? years ago it was advertised and sold as Swiss butter. do we have too few raw materials? recently it has often simply said EU origin. now it even says DE/IRL. can you explain this to me? thank you.

Hello clini, thank you for your inquiry. Butter stocks in Switzerland are currently at a very low level. This is also due to the fact that butter consumption increased significantly during the lockdown. In order to ensure the availability of butter in Switzerland, we had to import butter accordingly. Swiss butter has been back in our stores since October 19. As there is still some imported butter on the shelves, products with both origins are currently on sale. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

How hot can the butter be heated?

Hello Melanie18, thank you for your request. The maximum temperature specified for butter is 175°C. Above this temperature, the water-soluble components start to discolor or burn. Butter is primarily recommended for steaming and melting and not for frying. Frying butter (also known as boiled butter or clarified butter) would be more suitable for frying above 180°C. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Is the butter clarified?

Hello Shaihash, and thank you for your inquiry. Our M-Budget butter is not clarified. If it were, we would have to declare it under the law. If you wish to buy clarified butter, we recommend roasting butter (organic or conventional quality). Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Can we get it on LeShop?

Hello fannyy12 LeShop does not carry all the products in the Migros supermarket range. The online store decides independently of Migros whether or not to include products. Best regards Frederica
