The price of coffee has also gone up with the competition and I know that the price of cocoa is on the rise.
However, this product costs 6.85 at Aldi.

Hello Dragonball, thank you for your post. We understand your disappointment about the price increase of coffee beans. Unfortunately, there is a price increase in certain raw materials due to the weather. This forces us to make various price adjustments. Depending on the growing region, for example, it was either too dry or too wet, leading to massive crop failures. Whenever possible, we bear the additional costs ourselves - unfortunately, in this case it was unavoidable to adjust the prices. If the situation eases again, we will of course review any adjustments. Our aim is still to offer the best value for money. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Is there a difference with coffee beans?
a difference?
If so, what?
Hello IceTeaBlume, thank you for your question. One difference is that Boncampo coffee is a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans, whereas M-Budget coffee is made from 100% Robusta beans. The taste is also different. The Boncampo has roasted aromas of wood and tobacco, while the M-Budget has notes of nutmeg, cereals and bread, sometimes slightly fruity (passion fruit). Why is M-budge bean coffee priced so high at 8.95Fr. 3 years ago it was 5.50Fr.
Why?
I hope it will be cheaper again
Cheap brand ??
Then it can't be that it will soon be as expensive as other coffees?
Hello IceTeaBlume , thank you for your contribution. We can understand why you are surprised about the price increase. Migros has always offered quality at reasonable prices. Nevertheless, it can happen that we have to increase prices. These can have various causes:
- Increases in the cost of raw materials, packaging materials (especially paper and cardboard), general production costs
- For food: poor harvest (quality, quantity) -> increased demand, higher price
We compensate for normal exchange rate fluctuations and minor increases in raw material prices by means of a mixed calculation. However, if these costs rise steadily over a period of months or if procurement prices increase drastically, an adjustment is unavoidable. We often do not pass on the full price increase to the sales price. We assure you that we always examine such measures carefully and only take them if there is no other option. Whenever possible, we communicate important price increases in our own press (Migros Magazine) in order to show our customers the background to such steps. We primarily take into account price changes for everyday items that are available throughout Switzerland. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Cocoa is even worse affected. The price of cocoa is exploding there because of the poor harvests and many other problems (there have been several reports on this this week).
The coffee bean is affected in exactly the same way. Lousy harvest.
The same with olive oil and sugar.
The orange is also affected and will lead to higher prices.
If it continues, prices will unfortunately only go up...
With cocoa, for example, there is no improvement in sight.
In some cases, producers have to increase the price by 30%...
When I see the old prices, it is extremely painful

Can these beans also be used for espressos, as I don't like the M-Budget espresso beans?
Hello FelixHasler, thank you for the question. Yes, that is possible. Basically, you can prepare any coffee as an espresso. It is a matter of taste whether you prefer a lungo or a stronger "espresso". Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Does this pack contain 2 different types of beans?
Good morning Michi2000It says so in the product information: Botanical variety: Arabica/RobustaArabica beans are larger and flatter, the shape is clearly more oval. The indentation on the flat side is curved in a gentle S-shape. Robusta beans are rounder and smaller and have an almost straight indentation on the flatter side. Best regards Frederica
@frederica does this mean that this packaging contains 2 varieties? Yes or no?
I guess so! I don't know the M-Budget coffee beans and won't get to know them either 🙅🏻♀️ ↵M-Infolinewill certainly provide you with an answer .
Hello Michi2000, thank you for your inquiry. No, this article only contains Robust beans. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
