Hello. I opened the jar and mixed it with pasta, it was very sandy and not edible. And seeing your answers and the limit of messing with customers is ridiculous. We put tomatoes in glass jars, so there must be glass in them too? In any case, it's sandy and unpalatable! Y.Gogniat
Same batch ...
Hello jessgermana, thank you for your message. Tomatoes grow in fields and, unfortunately, the presence of sand or soil is sometimes possible. We've received a lot of feedback about lot M270, so we'll keep a close eye on this. So far, however, our limit value has been respected. During the production of each batch, process and laboratory checks are carried out every hour. We can also assure you that we have not yet received any feedback on the discovery of glass in the product. Yours sincerely, the M-Infoline team

The passata is really sandy had to dispose of the whole lasagna 😝😝I buy this very often and have more bottles that are inedible at home!
hello pilzmoos thank you for your message. no, i didn't get a replacement. just a link to a 10.- voucher that doesn't work and wouldn't cover the expenses either. i'm still outraged by the answer "tomatoes are fruits that grow on the earth" "the product is compliant".
So that's a cheek I have now also complained am curious! Let me know how it turns out!
Hello PilzMoos, thank you foryour message and the photo. We regret that this product tasted sandy. We have clarified this with our manufacturer. The batch from which your product originated was flawless andshowed no abnormalities. We therefore assume that this was a one-off deviation, for which we apologize. The law specifies the quality parameters for tomatoes. These specify the maximum values for the presence of mineral impurities, including sand and soil. We are keeping the issue under review. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
This answer is completely unsatisfactory. Their comments that the tomato grows in the ground or that the quality parameters of the tomato are fixed are a joke. I would have liked to have seen your reaction if you had been served this lasagne. Now I have ten bottles of passata at home which they say I can use as normal because the standards are OK. My family would behead me. According to my research, I am not the only customer with this problem! I could well imagine passing this concern on to Espresso or Kassensturz. I would be happy to send you the Passat
Hello PilzMoos, is the best-before date and the lot number of the other bottles identical to the photo you sent? I.e. 01.09.2026 / AL1 l1270 11:38. If not, please let us know the details of the remaining bottle. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

the passata is sandy and therefore inedible. i need at least one bottle a week so i like to buy large quantities when it's on sale. now i have gallons of junk at home...and it cost something too. you always notice differences in quality, but when it grinds between your teeth i find that unacceptable. i have opened 4 different bottles from different packs...disgusting. an old one from the cellar was flawless.
Hello spargeltarzan11, thank you for your comment. We checked our retained samples and found no deviations.
The tomato is a product that grows on the ground. It can therefore not be ruled out that sand or soil can occasionally be felt. The law specifies the quality parameters for tomatoes. These specify the maximum values for the presence of mineral impurities, including sand and soil. The traces of mineral impurities found fall within the legal limits. The product is therefore compliant. Nevertheless, we understand that you did not want to consume the passata. We will contact you privately. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

For a few months now, the lids have been almost impossible to open by hand. I have to help each time with the end of a spoon. Can you check what's going on here?
Hello cut2012, thank you for your question. We will be happy to look into it. Could you please let us know the best-before date and the lot number of an affected jar? Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello cut2012, thank you for your feedback. We have checked retained samples as an immediate measure. This procedure did not reveal any qualitative deviations from our standard. We can therefore rule out a general problem. We have sensitized the supplier accordingly and will certainly keep an eye on the issue. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, otherwise I would have made a video showing two containers next to each other (5MB). It's just a stark difference, and both are next to each other in the rack. One is light colored and almost 100 percent water, the other is red with solids. If you are interested in seeing the difference, please get in touch (you can't use the contact form, it doesn't seem to like movies). Kind regards
Hello MaJei, thank you for your offer regarding the video, which we do not need. In the meantime, we have also recognized certain fluctuations, but these are within the tolerance range. A passata is naturally thinner than a tomato sauce. It is the base ingredient for a tomato sauce. The pulp also sinks when the bottle stands still, so the product has to be shaken to homogenize it again. Tomatoes are natural products with all their characteristics. The properties of tomatoes can therefore vary depending on their structure and meteorological factors. Our passata is made from 100% fresh tomatoes and not processed tomatoes. The natural variations are therefore particularly noticeable here. Nevertheless, we have a clear quality standard that the supplier and their product must meet. We have sensitized the supplier accordingly and are keeping an eye on the issue. Do you still have unsatisfactory glasses? Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Regarding your previous answers, I find them very unsatisfactory: I have known the product for as long as I can remember. Of course you boil it down, but when you open it now, it's just water, you could boil it for a long time. The consistency has clearly changed, I still have a small jar, it's a lot less liquid there, you can see that in the jar when you swirl it.
Hello Please see my comment from today including details of the batch. Extreme drop in quality from good sauce base to red water since October 2020. Please look into this! Thank you very much! Kind regards
Hello MaJei, thank you for your feedback. We regret that the article has recently given you cause for complaint and that you are not satisfied with our response. Your concern is important to us, which is why we have checked various samples from different production series. We did not notice any similar discrepancies. Nevertheless, we are taking your comment very seriously and are working closely with our supplier to determine the cause of the deviation you describe. We ask for your patience. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I have always liked this sauce on pizza. Unfortunately, it has recently become much more watery and is no longer usable. What a pity. What has been changed? Why? Lot AL1 E214 16:20 B.B.E. 08/2023 I shook all the bottles in the store. All the same.
Hello moratorio, thank you for your concern. We are sorry that the product has disappointed you. We are aware of the watery consistency and have already reported this to our manufacturer. However, the consistency is mainly due to the tomatoes. It is an uneven product that comes from the earth. The characteristics of the raw material can therefore vary greatly depending on the structure of the tomato itself, in particular the meteorological factors that determine its growth and ripening. In addition, passata is made from 100% fresh tomatoes and not from reprocessed tomatoes. Passata is actually intended for further processing into sauces or for cooking. The water would still evaporate a little. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

This sauce is no longer satisfactory for me either. I was an enthusiastic buyer of this sauce but now no more!!! It's like colored water. Shaking and boiling doesn't help at all ... I won't be buying this product again!!! What went wrong? Why is it so runny? Has the sauce been diluted with water? In any case, it's no longer a sauce
Hello QAy, thank you for your report. We're sorry that you didn't like the sauce. Could you send us the LOT number and best-before date via the contact form? Thank you very much for your help. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I would like to agree with the previous speakers. The tomato sauce in the Zurich Airport branch has been extremely watery for some time (consistency is more like red-colored water) and has a peculiar sour vinegar taste. Unfortunately, this sour taste remains even when boiled down and the sauce remains watery - The whole thing should be clarified with Longobardi (e.g. quality problem, production problem, poor harvest, etc.) Best-before date: 08/2023 LOT: AL 1 E216 and AL1 E218
Hello davinci0, thank you for your message. We have received a lot of feedback about this product saying that it is too thin or too watery. According to our supplier, passata is "thinner" per se than normal tomato sauces, as it is the base ingredient for a tomato sauce that still needs to be cooked down. If left to stand for a long time, the pulp sinks and the tomato liquid floats to the top. However, this has no effect on the quality. In this case, the product must be shaken so that it can mix again (as with fruit juice). The tomato is also a natural product that is subject to certain fluctuations (e.g. meteorological factors that determine growth and ripening). The slightly sour taste is a subjective parameter and is basically typical of fresh tomatoes. Our supplier is now working hard to ensure that the quality of the pureed tomatoes always remains stable.
