Are these corn waffles gluten-free?
Hello Angela_87, Lilibiggs corn wafers do not contain any gluten-containing ingredients and no possible carry-over is to be expected (no trace information on the packaging). It can therefore be expected that there is no gluten or that any content would be less than 200mg/kg or liter of ready-to-eat food.
Normally, products without gluten-containing ingredients and without a trace label can be used in a gluten-free diet, except in cases of very high sensitivity. Gluten-free specialty products (products labeled "gluten-free", products with the crossed-out ear of corn, gluten-free products with the aha! seal of approval) contain less than 20 mg/kg gluten. However, you must also be aware that even gluten-free specialty products may contain traces of gluten (as mentioned, any content is less than 200mg/kg or liter of ready-to-eat food). Dear Sir or Madam I am a big fan of these corn wafers, but I think the triple plastic packaging is not up to date. 3 large packs are wrapped in a transparent plastic, then you have 3 individual packs wrapped in plastic, which then each contain 4 individual packs of corn wafers wrapped in plastic. I would ask you to reconsider this packaging method or at least the packaging material. There are many more sustainable or better recyclable packages. thank you very much
