Hello dear Migros team
I recently noticed that the taste of iced tea sometimes changes slightly. Funnily enough, only some of them. As an example, I bought a 4-pack that had a shelf life until August 2025 and tasted the same as usual. Now I've opened a pack where they all have a shelf life until November 2025 and they taste different somehow. Almost as if the lemon content was slightly higher? I've noticed this before and I started buying packs that didn't have such a long shelf life because I always got the normal taste, but it happened from time to time with those that had a longer shelf life. Could it be that the taste of "newer" packs is slightly different and that the typical taste only becomes established after some time? This was also the case back then, when the minimum shelf life was 3 months rather than a year. For a long time I used to buy packs that only had 1-2 months left instead of the full 3 months. I was just curious if others have noticed this too and if there really is something to it, or if the difference in taste comes from something else, especially because I've noticed it several times now over a 1-2 year period.

The taste of the iced tea may change within the best-before date, especially in the first 4 to 6 weeks after production. This is because the flavours harmonize during this time. Please note that storage conditions can also affect the taste. In general, we recommend storing the iced tea in a cool, dry place. Nevertheless, we will pay attention to this issue. Hello dear MigorsTeam I always buy the IceTea pack during promotions. The best IceTea!!!! But today I noticed something: Normally, when I buy these, they have a shelf life of 3 months at most. It's always been like that. But today I bought peach & lemon and they are both valid until 2025! Peach until 03.02.2025 and lemon until 16.01.2025. Can that be? Thank you very much!

What is the shelf life of the Iceteas?

This is because the shelf life not only varies depending on the product, but also on how the product is stored or handled after opening. For example, if you drink directly from an opened ice pack, the contents will spoil more quickly than if you handle it hygienically. It is best to rely on your senses and experience. Most spoilage reactions are visible (e.g. mold infestation) or perceptible in taste (musty smell, souring, rancidity, etc.). If in doubt: throw it away!
