Hello, I have a tube of this condensed milk. It does not say on the tube that it should be used within a week, for example. The date is 04-2021. Does this mean that I can use it open until this date, provided it is handled hygienically? I used very little of it once at Easter and don't know whether I can still use this tube now: it has only been open once and was stored in the fridge door, its appearance and smell have not changed.
Good evening nachtblauRead the answer from M-Infoline to Kionyx, because this question is along similar lines. Best regards Frederica
Hello nachtblau, thank you for your inquiry. Due to its very high sugar content, condensed milk has a very low aw value. The lower the aw value of a food product, the less perishable it is. From a microbiological point of view, the product can be consumed until the best before date if it is handled hygienically. If these conditions are not met, sensory deviations may occur. It is best to taste the product briefly before use. If there are no deviations in smell, taste and mouthfeel, you can consume the product without hesitation. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Once the tube has been opened, how long can it be kept in the fridge?
Hello Kionyx Thank you for your question. Due to a variety of influencing factors, it is not possible to determine best before dates for goods that have already been opened. You have to rely on your senses and experience. Most spoilage reactions are visible (e.g. mold) or perceptible in taste. It is important to store the product in a cool place and to observe the rules of hygiene (e.g. no contact of the tube opening with fingers, mouth or dirty cloth etc.). If the condensed milk has not been used for some time, we recommend first squeezing out an approx. 2 cm long piece and throwing it away. The tube must not have any holes or leaks and must not be distended; the smell, taste and mouthfeel must be normal. Otherwise: throw it away! Best regards, Your M-Infoline Team

Is the unsweetened condensed milk (dark blue-light blue design instead of light blue-red) still available or only the sweetened version?
Hello guest
Thank you for your inquiry.
You can also find unsweetened condensed milk in our range. The unsweetened milk comes in a tin and has the article number 1501.110.
See you soon in your Migros.

Dear Migros
Nestlé has a condensed milk on offer that is available in a practical PET squeeze bottle (unfortunately only in Spanish regions such as the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands etc., see photo). The rather environmentally unfriendly and spill-prone aluminum tube is inferior to the PET bottle, which by the way is easy to dose, as it can be used by simply squeezing it like the Migros honey bottle.
Wouldn't it be possible for Migros to offer condensed milk in such bottles in future? I would be very pleased, I have been buying the product for a long time and use it regularly for desserts and drinks (coffee)!
Thank you very much!
Hello nessee
Thank you very much for your feedback and the photo!
We are constantly adapting our range, offers and services to the latest requirements and trends, and your comments on the packaging of the condensed milk serve as a helpful suggestion. The relevant departments have been informed of your suggestion. However, we ask for your understanding if your suggestion cannot be considered immediately or at all.
By the way, we offer condensed milk not only in tubes but also in cans.

Hello M-Infoline Team
Thank you for passing on my suggestion.
Yes, in addition to the tube, condensed milk is also available in cans (sweetened and unsweetened), I am aware of that. But I find the can packaging even more impractical and unwieldy than the tube, which is why I didn't even mention it... ;-)
I don't expect my suggestion to be implemented immediately - it's just a suggestion and if Migros could respond with similar packaging, I would be all the more pleased.
Best regards and thank you,
nessee
