I bought pdt Amandine packed by SAUGY Granges-MARNAND on 29.02.2020 at Fr. 4.95 and kept them in a sagex box. When I took them back today, they had turned green. Thank you for your reply. Best regards.
Potatoes turn green when exposed to light for a certain period of time. A natural toxic substance, solanine, is formed. If ingested in large quantities, solanine can cause symptoms of intoxication such as headache, sore throat, digestive problems and vomiting. These unpleasant symptoms occur around 4 to 6 hours after consumption. Potatoes with large green parts or which have completely changed color should be discarded as a precaution. To prevent greening, potatoes should be stored away from light and in a cool, dry place (not in the fridge). Best regards, your M-Infoline team
